Achieving Good Oral Health:Caring for your teeth is an important factor in promoting good health. By focusing on what makes a mouth healthy, we will show you how to achieve the comfort and security of good oral health.

Our Emphasis Is On Prevention:Common sense tells us that preventing dental diseases is less costly and more rewarding than correcting problems once they occur. Good dental health is no accident. It is the result of good habits, proper nutrition and regular professional care. Once you understand how dental diseases begin, then you will understand how to prevent it. That is why educating you is one of our primary goals.

A Commitment To You:In the dental profession, as in most sciences, dramatic changes seem to occur almost weekly as new techniques and methods are developed. We are committed to practice with the latest techniques and scientific advances in dentistry. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continual education and learning. We attend dental lectures, meetings, and dental conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care. Also, being members of various professional dental associations helps us to stay abreast of the changes and recommendations for our profession.

Protecting Your Health:We care about you and we care about protecting your health. To assure your protection, we have always maintained the most rigorous standards of infection control in our practice. We follow guidelines established by the American Dental Association, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to guard against the transmission of infectious diseases and also to help prevent spread of the common cold.

Diagnosis...Our most Valuable Tool:To prevent dental disease, first we need a complete picture of your present oral health, as well as your dental and medical history. Your initial examination will include an evaluation of past, existing and potential problems. X-rays and an examination of your oral tissues for decay and gum/bone disease are used to identify hidden problems. If a malocclusion is present or developing we may also take diagnostic impressions. This information will help us predict your future dental health.

We Promise:When your examination is complete, we will discuss our findings with you and make recommendations for treatment. We want you to know what should be done, and the cost involved. Also, we want you to help decide which path we should follow. You will be pleased to find that our fees are comparable to others in this area.

We want You to Have a Positive Experience: Our office is about building trust by treating our patients as special individuals is vital to our success. We understand how uneasy some patients may feel about their dental visits, and how we can make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience. Our dental staff is dedicated to providing you with excellent, personalized care and service to make your visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

After having had braces myself, I realized that a persons self confidence is all related to their smile. If a person has a great smile, self confidence and a positive outlook are the results. My mission in life is to help provide that self confidence to my patients via their smiles.

Many adult phobias for dental treatment all begins with a single bad experience as a child. The memory of a negative experience will haunt many rational minded adults and cause them to avoid seeking dental care.

I have one child who was referred to me by a local pediatrician. The parents were unhappy with a pedodontist (dentist for children) they had taken their daughter to.The previous dentist wanted to medicate the child since he/she thought the child was a difficult patient.

During the childs first visit in my office, I made the child very comfortable with me. Most importantly, I gained the trust of this young patient before attempting to pursue the needed dental treatment.

I've been afraid of going to the dentist since I was 8. Bad and painful experiences with my childhood dentist made me very hesitant when I'd visit...then in 1994 that all changed. At the referral of a friend, I went to see Dr. Ticzon and Dr. Krystal. They are both excellent in their care of patients. I had zillions of cavities as a child and as an adult have had to have a few crowns to replace them and likely will have more in the coming years (I'm in my late 40's). Primarily I see Dr. Ticzon, his chairside manner for adults who like me are terrified, is exceptional. Every step of the way I know what's happening and he gives me proper cues in case I need the work to stop for any reason (typically, I can't handle the drilling, but that has subsided over the years). Over 25+ years I've never had any issues with what he's found in my xrays, or felt I needed any other opinions. Their office has treated me fairly and professionally.

I've been a patient for several years. In fact my children's first visit to a dentist was to Dr. Ticzon's office and they still see him on a regular basis today....25 years later. My family feels very comfortable referring our friends and we have called on Dr. Ticzon for emergency situations over the years and found him to be very receptive and "reachable" even after hours. If you are looking for a dentist that cares about your health, safety, and takes the time to "listen" you have found your dentist...

I have never been so disappointed. I saw Dr. Ticzon for approximately 6 months. The first visit was great - good vibe, friendly guy, seemed trustworthy. Oh, how I was deceived. On my second visit, Dr. Ticzon insisted on doing a bunch of X-Rays (which I later found out were completely unnecessary). I received the following email after I sent over my insurance info: -------- Kathleen: Thank you for getting back to me regarding the dental insurance. I had a chance to look at your X-Rays from this morning, and I hate to tell you that there are decays between the teeth. Some of the decays have gone through the enamel and are now in the second layer of the teeth. All of these decays could have been prevented if you had floss more often. Can you please call our office to make an appointment for them? I will also have May contact you. When I see you at your next visit, I will show them to you, and we may want to take care of a few of them at that time. Thanks, Dave. -------- You have the nerve to tell a patient OVER EMAIL that they have several cavities? That was the first red flag. In a complete panic (I've had one cavity my whole life), I immediately had him send over the X-Ray pictures and I sent them over to 2 other dentists (friend's dad who's a dentist and my family dentist in Chicago, Dr. Salzman) to take a look at them. Both were very skeptical. I saw one of these dentists in person to verify and he told me I was being scammed - I didn't have ANY cavities. I informed Dr. Ticzon of the other opinions, and he did not defend himself nor apologize (also have this in writing via email). I am not sure who to take this up with but this is an act of fraud! Needless to say, he will not be seeing me again. Very very let down. Be careful! Make sure to get second opinions. Better yet, avoid going to Dr. Ticzon altogether. *If anyone has suggestions on how to handle an issue like this, please respond to this post and I will reach out to you directly. Thanks!
