Dr. Scannell is originally from Ghent, NY. The oldest of seven children, he earned his B.A. from Alfred University and his M.A. from SUC at Geneseo before graduating with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1988. He is also a certified CPR instructor, as well as a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Valley District Dental Society, and the University of Buffalo Dental Alumni Association.
Dr. Scannell and his wife Carrie have three sons - Stewart, Spencer and Tai. Outside of work, he is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, currently serving as chair of the Conservation Committee of the Western Massachusetts Council, Northeast Region Area 2 Conservation Advocate, and on staff for National Camping School and the National Jamboree. He enjoys collecting books, especially nature field guides. In his youth he spent 15 years working as a wildlife rehabilitator. He enjoys hiking, skiing and music, and raises chickens and turkeys on the family homestead, Crow Hill Farms in Monson.
Originally from Alabama, Dr. Hollinger grew up in Agawam and recently moved to Rocky Hills, CT with his wife Laura and their five children. He has been improving patients smiles for 23 years and counting. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst before moving on to achieve his dental degree at Tufts University. He has also undergone additional training in several areas, including sleep treatment and sleep disorders, TMD, orofacial pain, and orthodontics as part of the International Association of Orthodontics. Today, he is a proud member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Valley District Dental Society, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Orofacial Pain, and the International Association of Orthodontics. His favorite part of his job is being presented with a unique experience from each patient.

I was in severe pain due to a dental issue. I spoke to Linda & she was able to get me an appointment within an hour. I was immediately seen by Dawn, who took x-rays. Dr. Hollinger determined what was causing my pain, prescribed antibiotics & advised me what OTC pain medication I should take. A few hours later & I have already noticed an overall relief from my pain. Thanks to all of you I will be able to sleep tonight!!!

Everyone I've seen here, is very concerned with your well being. They make sure you feel good during each procedure. I also feel like they dont try to push you into things you may not really need. My doctor is Julia Reilly and my hygienist is Chris. I recommend both of them highly!!

I was so happy to finally find a dentist I totally trusted...I had been to shady places, that i would not return to...the staff here were very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Riley fixed a chipped tooth I had had for months because I couldn't find a trustworthy place that accepted my insurance. great experience!!!

I've been going to Sannell & Hollinger for the past couple of years and highly recommend them. Last year I had an insurance change and couldn't go here anymore. I tried another dentist and they were not nearly as good as this practice- I ended up changing my insurance again and paying slightly more per month just so I could go to this practice! They're always thorough, on time, fairly priced, and never press unnecessary treatments. I would definitely suggest making them your dentist.

I recently changed from another dental office that I had used for several years. I cannot say enough about the level of care, courtesy and professionalism of the entire staff. Dr. Reilly is a gem - personable, skilled and genuinely interested in her patients' well-being and satisfaction. I would encourage anyone seeking a dentist, or considering changing dentists, to make an appointment - you won't be disappointed!

Great experience!! Made me feel more then comfortable. Went in for a cleaning and to talk about a possible cavity that had been brought to my attention by a previous dentist (aspen dental) just to find out now that there was never a cavity before. I would recommend them to anyone Looking to find trustworthy people that are not just out for your money.

I and my wife have been going to this office many years as far back as I can remember. I have never felt that I have ever been treated with anything but the best of care. Everybody is friendly and very capable. The only thing missing in my opinion is a senior citizen, long time patient, military veteran and happy hour discount!!!! These folks are the best.
