'Bob' was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but grew up an hour from Richmond in Yorktown, Va. Attended VCU for undergraduate studies and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in 2005.Dr. Quilez has been a partner at Drs. Oley and Quilez DDS PLC since 2005. Dentistry has become his passion.
An active member of theAmerican Dental Association, Virginia DentalAssociation, Give kids aSmile programs, and frequently visits local schools and church groups to educate children on the importance of dental hygiene. Dentistry has been part of his life even before becoming a dentist. While in college he trained to become a Certified Dental Assistant and was the first dental student to practice Dental Hygiene in Virginia under the supervision of MCV, but in private practice.
For fun he enjoys playing with his wife and daugter, dogs, exercising, outdoors,reading, college sports (go Rams!),professional sports (Go Eagles!),andalmost any DIYproject.Dr. Quilez's wife, Irene Quilez, is a RegisteredDental Hygienistand MCV graduateas well! Dentistry is truely a part of our family.

As much as I hate going to the dentist Dr. Quilez and his assistant Angela were both amazing I got my wisdom tooth pulled out and some fillings done , and will say best experience ever definitely a keeper ! Thank you both so much

The emergency line was awful. Had to call 3 times and then was told they didn't have staff to treat a patient and would have to wait until the next business day to try and be seen.

I've been going to this practice for about 7 years. I can't say enough good things to do justice to the staff, Dr. Quilez, Dr. Chip Anderson (orthodontist whose main office is 5500 Monument but has patients here), and Mandy the hygienist. I feel like I practically live there because my daughter is, also, a patient, I went for Invisalign maintenance for 2 years, and I go 3x a year for cleanings. They're always patient and sensitive to the fact I have anxiety due to my extreme tooth sensitivity that gets worse as I get older. Regarding Dr. Anderson, he has made my smile and bite much better. I have much more confidence smiling because of the work he did with my Invisalign treatment. When my retainer went missing (maid threw away at a hotel ) they took it seriously and urgently replaced it, keeping me in constant communication over the status of the replacement so my alignment wouldn't regress. Regarding Dr. Quilez, my molar cracked, and the office fit me in their packed schedule the next morning to get a temporary crown and coached me through the process to calm my fears. There was no pain at all during the procedure. I have my permanent crown, and it's pain free, looks great, and I don't worry about eating hard food. Regarding Mandy the hygienist, she is the only one I will see. She takes the time to make sure my sensitivity issues don't flare up as she's cleaning my teeth, and she is very helpful in giving tips to make sure I maintain my tooth and gum health until the next cleaning. They always look great when she finishes! The reason I'm writing this long review is that I'm a firm believer in dental health as part of your overall physical and mental health, have worked at dental and health insurance companies so understand the business, and that patient satisfaction can make or break any practice/business. Plus, my insurance and I have spent a lot of $$ here so it's well worth the time to explain why I keep coming back. This office is extremely busy with happy patients so they sure don't need this review but definitely deserve it!

I have had my fair share of dental fillings, you could say I am connoisseur of dental work (lol!) and recently because of a dental plan issue we had to switch to this office. I am always nervous about dental work at a new office because not all dentists are the same, I have had my fair share of bad experiences. I highly recommend Dr Smith here. She did a filling on me and it was the least uncomfortable dental work I have ever had. She was super friendly and it was obvious to me that she is one of the good ones. Highly recommend Dr. Smith.

Dr. Quilez and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcomed and understood when you come into the clinic. They are patient and kind, and made sure my family and I felt welcomed and cared to in their treatment. I recommend this practice to all my friends regularly!

I have nothing but good things to say about this practice. The dentists are amazing and very knowledgeable, the clinical staff is very professional, and the front desk staff were quick, helpful, and some of the most friendly of any dentists office I have ever been to. Highly recommend.

I don't see how this place is getting bad reviews ! I had a bad experience at another office where the dentist talked nasty to me I got up and walked out before he started services ! My mother told me about this office as she is a patient too. Let's start with the front desk staff - super nice and always cheerful when ever I call ! I work in a doctors office and my hours relate to the same as this office but the girls are good at helping me get an appointment! The office is pretty small but always clean .... the dentist himself is amazing ! I replaced some old fillings and during the procedure I FELT NOTHING !!! Doc made sure he numbed me up even said nope I don't feel like your confident going to numb you more (he definitely made sure I wouldn't feel anything !) it's been a few months but I'm in love with my smile ! Do for my cleaning soon ! Wait times are reasonable I never had to wait too long ! It's hard to find a good doctor and dentist if your considering this office give them a try !

Going to the dentist may not be a pleasant experience for everyone but if your dentist is Dr. Quilez its guaranteed to be an excellent one for all patients. All of the staff makes the practice so special from the front desk associates, dental assistants, hygienists, to the doctors themselves. Lauren at the front desk was so helpful with scheduling and walking me through what to expect at my visit. I will never go to another practice. If you're not happy with your current dentist, you must give them a call!

I have had many bad experiences with dentists bc my gums are extremely sensitive, and I've finally found a forever dentist that actually listened to my concerns and calmed my nerves through the whole process. The office staff was so friendly and answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. I definitely recommend this office! 5 out 5 stars!!!

I love the staff and dentists at Oley and Quilez. Everyone there is extremely friendly and makes me feel at ease with whatever procedure is being done. Dr. Oley always takes the time to explain what the procedure entails. And during the procedure he consistently narrates what's going to happen and what I might feel. Additionally, I have neck issues, TMJD as well as a very small mouth and they always take that into consideration during my dental appointments, doing whatever possible to accommodate me. During any dental work I have done Dr. Oley routinely asks me how I'm doing and if I needed a break. I greatly appreciate their care and consideration. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
