Over 33 years ago, Dr. David R. Heath began serving the dental needs of the rural community of Walkertown, North Carolina. Later he was joined by Dr. Justin H. Batten, a native of the area, who plans to work side by side with Dr. Batten and then continue his legacy into the decades ahead. They make an incredible team, along with a staff of dedicated, caring professionals who make up Drs. Batten & Heath Family Dentistry. Dr. Heath has proudly served Walkertown and the surrounding communities for more than three decades. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Zoology, David went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgerydegree at the UNC School of Dentistry. Immediately followingdental school, Dr. Heath took over a practice in Walkertown. He has been here ever since, providing quality care to his community.
Dr. Battens passion for dentistry was sparked during his early college years as he began volunteering with the Missions of Mercy dental practices in rural communities across North Carolina. There he witnessed the true need for dental treatment in our state and the difference that a quality dentist can make in the lives of his neighbors. Dr. Batten continues to volunteer with Missions of Mercy and NC Baptist Mens Dental Bus, as well as through international missions. Dr. Batten graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree from North Carolina State University.He then attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Unfortunately I was really hoping this family practice would've worked out for myself and my family. I went in for a cleaning on two different occasions and to have a small cavity filled. After Batten did my filling the tooth was beyond sensitive and hurt. I let this go on for a couple of days since they said this sensitivity might last a few days. Well it went on and on and I eventually went to a different practice for their opinion and it turns out Batten did not fill in the tooth all of the way!! So, I contacted Batten's office and they did refund my money and the money back to my insurance. Their office manager (Batten's wife) said this was 'fair'.. Fair would've been to have my tooth fixed the first time by this office.. not having to go to another office for a consultation and then having to go back for the other office to fix it. I do not recommend this office and I am sure my husband will be posting his even worse experience with this office. Like I said I Really wanted this office to work out since it is a small practice and the staff is friendly they just couldn't get the job done.

I have been coming to this practice for over 30 years, I started with Dr Health he has since retired. Now I am seeing Dr Batten he is Awesome makes you feel comfortable while he is working any questions or concerns he will answer, staff is great and his wife Ashley is so nice. Looking for a Great dentist come see Dr Batten.

Went by & had a tooth extraction with Dr. Justin Batten since I knew his family through church at Goapel Light . I am amazed in how painless the experience was. He is a very skilled,compassionate Dr. The complete dental practice is very nice,cordial,etc.from the check in through the dental procedure. The dental assistant was so friendly & comforting . I got to meet Dr Battens wife as I was checking out .

Worst place ever. The old lady receptionist is extremely rude and seems like she really hates her job and patients. Assistants whisper to each other and snicker while working on your teeth and make you feel self conscious. And dr heath fat belly will press up against your cheek while he is working on your teeth.
