We have a large clinical staff that includes general dentists, periodontal and prosthodontal specialists, and registered dental hygienists. Our clerical staff and certified dental assistants keep the office running smoothly.
Our team of registered dental assistants is responsible for helping the dentist in performing the procedure. This includes taking diagnostic x-rays, dental impressions, and a myriad of other tasks. Our assistants are calming and welcoming, and the atmosphere they create alleviates any anxiety a patient may have about visiting us.
B&G Dental has a long history of providing dental care to the greater Boston area. Our original location at 1259 Hyde Park Avenue has been an active dental practice since 1924. Dr. Richard Bankhead and Dr. Paul Groipen (the original B&G) purchased the practice in 1979. Dr. Stuart MacDonald, who began working with Drs. Bankhead and Groipen as a college student, purchased the practice in 2018. Dr. Stu looks forward to continuing the tradition of providing the best dental care for many years to come.
We have had neon flamingos living in our office windows for years. We have one in each office. People have come to recognize them as a local landmark. It certainly makes us easy to find! The reason we like flamingos is twofold.
First, the flamingo has an unusual jaw. Its upper jaw is mobile and its lower jaw is stationary (opposite or upside-down to ours). The second reason is we happened to see a vintage flamingo in Cape Cod, and we thought itd look great in our office window. And the rest is history!

The experience starts when you enter the office -- the vibe is happy! Who would expect that at a dentist office? Christine cleaned my teeth this time -- so competent, gentle and informative. I used to travel all the way back to KY to see my dentist until a friend referred me here a few years ago as I could not find one locally which made the change worthwhile. B&G did and then some. I highly recommend!

I have been going to this dental practice for most of my adult life. I grew up in Hyde Park but moved away over 30 years ago. But I still go to this practice. Why, you ask? Well I am a baby when it comes to the dentist and I have seen Dr, Groipen for all these years. He always makes me feel comfortable and puts me at ease and he never hurts me!! I get so anxious going to the dentist, as I'm sure, many people do. The whole team there is excellent and is always patient and caring to their patients. You can't go wrong at this practice!
