I truly love being a dentist. In my early years of dental school, I was convinced that a surgical residency was the right path for me. While I was accepted to that residence, I could not shut the door on the amazing opportunities offeredby general and family dentistry.
I enjoy the relationships I build with our diverse community, caring for everyone in the family, and for people from all walks of life. I love the variety of my days, how each patient, each visit, and each procedure, is different and interesting.
It is an honor to spend my days helping people improve their oral health and their smiles. I treasure the professional and personal relationships that grow with each of my patients. I see and care for them as the wonderfully unique people they are, always attentive to their comfort and goals.

Dr. Shane Drew grew up in Tacoma, WA. He graduatedSumma Cum Laudefrom the University of Puget Sound, with a Bachelors of Science inBiochemistry and a minor in Ceramic Art.It was this duality of Art and Science that ultimately led Dr. Drew to pursue Dentistry. His formal dental training was at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he graduated top of his class. While in Dental School, Dr. Drew was honored with several academic and clinical awards including induction into the Omicron Kappa Upislon honor society. Both his art and dental research has been published in a number of prestigious journals including Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Ceramics Monthly.
In addition to attending conferences, lectures, and seminars, Dr. Drew is a member of the Spear Study Club in Seattle. This allows him to interact with practitioners of all dental disciplines, collaborating to develop the best approach to complex cases. He has also studied at the prestigious Kois Center, which advances dentistry through rigorous research.
Many of Dr. Drews weekends are spent working at Seamar, a community clinic. Initially established in Snohomish County to serve migrant farm workers, Seamar now has multiple locations throughout the Puget Sound. Dr. Drew finds great personal and professional fulfillment through his efforts at Seamar and is glad to help people who dont have regular access to dental care.
After growing up in University Place, Dr. Drew now livesin Tacoma with his Doberman named Able. Family is Dr. Drews top priority when not caring for patients. He also enjoys distance running, golf, and skiing.
I am glad to be able to help people achieve and keep a healthy smile. We serve wonderful people and I believe each deserves great oral health and a smile they love. During visits, I assess my patients oral health, update their records, and provide thorough, gentle cleanings. Theres a strong connection between oral and bodily health and I want patients to achieve the best of both. A lot of my time is spent teaching patients the best way to properly brush and floss, about nutrition, and the importance of good habits.
