I truly love being a dentist. In my early years of dental school, I was convinced that a surgical residency was the right path for me. While I was accepted to that residence, I could not shut the door on the amazing opportunities offeredby general and family dentistry.
I enjoy the relationships I build with our diverse community, caring for everyone in the family, and for people from all walks of life. I love the variety of my days, how each patient, each visit, and each procedure, is different and interesting.
It is an honor to spend my days helping people improve their oral health and their smiles. I treasure the professional and personal relationships that grow with each of my patients. I see and care for them as the wonderfully unique people they are, always attentive to their comfort and goals.
Dr. Drews team members are the bedrock of the practice. Each is passionate, energetic, committed, and empathetic. They truly love their jobs and care about the wellbeing of each patient. Together, Dr. Drew and his staff have created a dental office filled with laughter and smiles. Its a fun place to visit, where patients are able to relax knowing they are safe, respected, and welcomed.
Dr. Shane Drew grew up in Tacoma, WA. He graduatedSumma Cum Laudefrom the University of Puget Sound, with a Bachelors of Science inBiochemistry and a minor in Ceramic Art.It was this duality of Art and Science that ultimately led Dr. Drew to pursue Dentistry. His formal dental training was at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he graduated top of his class. While in Dental School, Dr. Drew was honored with several academic and clinical awards including induction into the Omicron Kappa Upislon honor society. Both his art and dental research has been published in a number of prestigious journals including Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Ceramics Monthly.
In addition to attending conferences, lectures, and seminars, Dr. Drew is a member of the Spear Study Club in Seattle. This allows him to interact with practitioners of all dental disciplines, collaborating to develop the best approach to complex cases. He has also studied at the prestigious Kois Center, which advances dentistry through rigorous research.
Many of Dr. Drews weekends are spent working at Seamar, a community clinic. Initially established in Snohomish County to serve migrant farm workers, Seamar now has multiple locations throughout the Puget Sound. Dr. Drew finds great personal and professional fulfillment through his efforts at Seamar and is glad to help people who dont have regular access to dental care.
After growing up in University Place, Dr. Drew now livesin Tacoma with his Doberman named Able. Family is Dr. Drews top priority when not caring for patients. He also enjoys distance running, golf, and skiing.
I am glad to be able to help people achieve and keep a healthy smile. We serve wonderful people and I believe each deserves great oral health and a smile they love. During visits, I assess my patients oral health, update their records, and provide thorough, gentle cleanings. Theres a strong connection between oral and bodily health and I want patients to achieve the best of both. A lot of my time is spent teaching patients the best way to properly brush and floss, about nutrition, and the importance of good habits.

The staff are professional and knowledgeable. Dr Drew is a perfectionist. If he or you are unhappy with something and you let him know, he will fix it. He explains everything that he is doing so that there is a clear and concise understanding of all procedures. My wife and I are extremely happy with, and can highly recommend, the entire clinic and personnel.

Drew Dentistry is the best care I've ever experienced. Dr. Drew and his staff are so heartfelt, caring, and knowledgeable of what they're doing. They walk you through every step and constantly check to make sure you're doing okay. If I could give 100 stars I would. If going to the dentist causes you anxiety like it does for me, then Dr. Drew Shane is the dentist for you! He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable and calm as does his staff. Dan, the hygienist is equally as warm and caring and does excellent work. He knows the perfect amount to engage in conversation and is gentle with all those tools. I highly recommend Drew Dentistry.

Dr Drew is an excellent dentist, and his hygienist, Daniel, also. We have been with Daniel long before Dr Drew bought the practice from Dr Eyelander. The expertise is always professional, and it's a blessing to receive such good care. The office staff also is at its best, with 3 new hires, giving kindness and care with joyful personalities and the help needed. You'll enjoy all levels of this dental office.
