I have had the great opportunity to serve Bonner Springs and its surrounding cities for over 30 years. It is my passion to provide our community the best dental care possible. The field of dentistry has changed so much over the years, and I find that I enjoy it now more than ever. Every day is interesting, rewarding and I love the challenges that this field provides. I have the greatest patients, so giving them a beautiful smile and a comfortable experience is the reason I get up every morning.
I received my dental degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. To keep myself at the forefront of newest most advanced technologies in the dental field, I regularly participate in continuing education courses and seminars throughout the year. Being able to offer so many different services allows me to provide my patients with a smooth experience and ability to fully take care of your needs. I am also a member of both the Bonner Springs and Basehor Chamber of Commerce.
My wonderful wife, Pat and I started our journey together in 1977 and put roots down here. We have a wonderful life together and we have three amazing children: Angela works alongside me at the office as our Sleep Coordinator and is a published childrens book author. Adam works for non-profit organization, which provides drug education programs and literacy programs in schools. Andrea is an event planner in LA, She plans A-list celebrity events including the Emmys. When I have free time I enjoy going to the gym and can still run a 5k every so often. I also do lawn work, but only in moderation.

My job here at Drake Family dentistry is to help patients maximize their insurance benefits and receive the dental care they need.It is wonderful to learn so many new things and how important it is to keep your teeth healthy. Dr. Drake is great at that! I am for Olathe, KS and I love to be outside, going swimming.I also love watching Netflix! I have two cats, Sparta and Sadie whom I absolutely love!! My main duties are helping with the airway and sleep evaluations. I am very excited to be a part of a new specialty that gives patients improved breathing, sleep and ultimately a longer and healthier life. I really enjoy working with all the positive and friendly staff.It makes my day more enjoyable and fun. I look forward to gaining more dental knowledge and adding to my skills in order to assist patients better. I have enjoyed growing up in Kansas City and graduated from the University of Kansas. All aboard! I am thrilled to join the exceptional crew at Drake Family Dentistry, pull up the anchor and sail down the waters of Bonner Springs, the Kansas River and navigate the shores of the mighty Missouri! I am an Expanded Functions Dental Hygienist, your new Registered Dental Hygienist. As the new crew-mate in the office, I sailed away from the shores of Lakeview Dental of Lake Stevens, Washington within Puget Sound to navigate the new waters within the heartland. For years I felt drawn back to my Midwestern roots. Originally my family hailed from the Midwest, specifically, the shores of Lake Superior. As a 5th generation Duluthian, I was inspired to follow my great grandfathers footsteps into dentistry as he practiced from the Medical Arts Building overlooking the shores of the mother lake. My love for dentistry is a family trait, mapping decades of oral vessels. As a dental veteran, I have sailed watery saliva for 29 years, first working as a Certified Dental Assistant in a general practice then surgical assistant within a specialists office. I have worked as a dental hygienist 2 decades, weathering the gales of gum disease and with my professional compass, I intend to provide a safe passage to healthy gums, honing and assisting with patient navigational skills. I am proud to join Dr Drake as he leads our team in exceptional dental care. Lets set sail! Let the regatta begin!
I love working in our dental office. Its a friendly, home-town environment. I started as the patient coordinator and have since been promoted to office manager. Prior to having children, I also worked in the front office of another dental practice. I am originally from the Bonner Springs area and attended area schools. I am married to my husband Aaron, of 25 years and we have four children together. We also recently became grandparents. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, reading and spending time with my grandson, Grayson. We have a relaxed and professional atmosphere in our office where taking care of patients is our number one priority and we look forward to meeting you!

I reached out to the Drake Family Dentistry Sleep Coordinator, Angela, who I have to say is just awesome. Right from the time I walked into the office for my first evaluation Angela greeted me and it went all up hill from that point forward. They did everything promised from working with the insurance companies to helping with the sleep center. Dr. Drake was very professional and did everything possible to assure me that they will do what it takes to make sure my device will be fitted properly and would make sure any adjustments needed would be taken care of right from the beginning. I am extremely happy with my device and would highly recommend you contact Dr. Drakes office should you be looking for an alternative to sleeping with a CPAP Machine!

The staff is very friendly, and everyone is incredibly knowledgeable. My oral appliance has completely changed my life. I sleep better than I ever have (and so does my husband!). Thank you all for the excellent service I've received.

I needed to see a dentist quickly for an emergency. After contacting about 15 different dental offices, I only received a return call, text and email from the office manager at Dr. Drake's office. I contacted them in the afternoon, and they were able to see me the next day. Dr. Drake made me feel comfortable and took care of my issue quickly. He took time to talk to me about the issue, and made sure I understood everything. He also provided me with a detailed treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. Drake! He is an excellent and caring Dentist and he has the most wonderful staff in his office!

This was thee best experience I have had with a dental office . From the first call to get me in on an emergency, to the completed repair. I have never~ until this visit ~ had an experience that I wanted to share and recommend. Dr Drake is a very kind soul and a 10 star dentist... wait.. 20 star :) Professionalism and team work at the highest level.

So personally I'm terrified of dentist always have been. But I can tell you from my own personal experience what a gentle and caring doctor Drake it. He's an extremely friendly and legit caring doctor who has called me personally to check on my after having a wisdom tooth removed. He runs a very nice and clean which is important dentist office. He's the only dentist I've been to that I feel I don't dread seeing. 10/10 would recommend he's a heck of a guy.

What a wonderful family and team oriented place. Extremely competent and superb team of experts, led by the Doc himself. Every person at the practice is supreme at their job. After 30 years of military dental care, what a refreshing experience. The best! Thank you Dr. Drake.

I have such a fear of needles and so going in to get a cavity fixed was very stressful. The team at Drake Family Dentistry was wonderful. They were very calming and helped me calm down, and the way they numb the area prior to the needle made the experience less stressful! Great team!

I usually show up anxious, Dr Drake and staff are always kind and put me at ease quickly. The most painless experience I have ever had with any dental procedure, weather it be a simple cleaning or getting a filling. Can't say enough good things about them!

Let's face it, no one enjoys dental work, but a good dentist can make it as 'less terrible' as possible. Got three fillings done in 45 minutes, and even the numbing shots were relatively smooth going. For a generally unpleasant procedure, Dr. Drake made it as quick and painless as possible. Can't beat that.

I started seeing Dr. Drake after my husband and I moved to Bonner Springs. The only other person who ever worked on my teeth was my Uncle. Dr. Drake is excellent. He is extremely gentle, I've never had shots for numbing go as smoothly and painless than when he does it. He explains things clearly and the staff are very good at showing you what to expect for the cost before they do the work. Right now during Covid they have good guidelines in place. Highly recommend especially if you have had bad experiences with the dentists.

I had a broken tooth with pain, had been to two other dentists which were no help. Called Dr. Drake got an appointment that day as a new patient. Dr. Drake and his staff are fantastic. Got my tooth fixed. Very knowledgeable, efficient and professional experience. Even called that evening to see how I was doing. Just found my lifetime dentist.

Dr. Drake did an incredible job with correcting my newborn niece's tongue & lip tie. He understood the emergent need from my sister and her husband, and took them in that very day. I watched as he preformed the procedure with his assistant, they were an amazing team. He was incredibly calm, extremely kind, and was truly an answer to prayers. He has since called to check in on her as she heals. We highly recommend him for family dentistry, especially for frenectomy procedures!

Simply put, Dr. Drake was incredible! My two day old daughter had bad tongue and lip ties which kept her from nursing We were on the hunt for a quick solution and were met with scheduling multiple weeks out at every turn. No good! Through a miracle we found Dr. Drake's office number and got right in same day. He and his staff were so competent, caring and professional. I can not recommend them highly enough!! Thank you Dr Drake and team for the helping hand you extended to my family today. You've made the difference.

Dr Drake does excellent work! He also came in on a day when the office was closed and he was on vacation but I had a dental emergency, so he took care of my issue and my mouth has felt great since. The office staff is also very friendly and will work with you when life happens and you need to reschedule.

Ok you guys, listen up! All you that have a great fear of going to the dentist. Stop searching and go see Dr. Drake. My story is long and complicated but bear with me...to make it as short as possible... I had a couple of horrible experiences with the dentist starting when I was in 2nd grade. Those experiences created a very horrific fear of going to the dentist and I went years and years without going. I would only go when I had an abscess and had no other choice. Then the next time would be many years later, a different dentist and so on and so on. I would always find a different dentist each time because of embarrassment. Too many times I was scolded and made to feel 2 feet tall because I hadn't kept up with my teeth. I felt judged instead of supported. Then early this year (2021), once again I was needing help. I searched reviews everywhere. I came across Dr. Drake and read his reviews. I read about how they were accepting and understanding of the phobia and that they were sympathetic and nothing but supportive. So I went. Well let's just say that was the best decision I've made in a long time. Dr Drake is the best. And the ladies at the desk are always pleasant and greet you with a smile. Then everyone who helped work on my teeth was very gentle and calming. No fast pace, stressful atmosphere. Dr. Drake always tells you what is going to happen before he does it. He always stops and checks to make sure I'm comfortable and do not feel anything. And the best thing is...he did not make me feel judged. He understood. He only wanted to help me and I felt like he cared. They all do. The ladies all are so nice and gentle. I am still going in for more work done (some 7 months later) and I still get nervous, but I am no longer terrified to go in. The weight has been lifted off my shoulders and it feels so nice to finally be taking care of my teeth. I hope this helps someone....just like that review helped me find him. Much love!
