Orthodontics is in my blood. Coming from a family of orthodontists, it only seemed natural to follow into a field that makes such a positive difference in peoples lives. Through the art and science of orthodontic treatment, I am able to make my patients look beautiful and improve their self-esteem. I love what I do because I make patients' quality of life better.
I love to be around children. It brightens my day to be able to serve them and improve the way they look and function. I am very dedicated to my profession, to my patients, and to my team. At the end of the day, we all leave smiling.
To stay current with the newest and most effective orthodontic treatments available, I attend the major meetings of the AAO and NESO, and participate in courses through the New York Dental Society. While these meetings and courses are mandatory for state licensure, I believe they are an integral aspect of my goal to provide the best care to my patients.
A native of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, I now reside in Demarest, NJ, with my husband and our two beautiful soccer-crazed sons. We also have a Guinea pig, a Leopard gecko, and a coral fish tank to keep the boys entertained. Most of my day-to-day free time is spent at soccer games and practices, but when we get the chance, we love going on family vacations. If I can find a quiet moment, I also enjoy reading.

Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.
This is a great time to wear braces! Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can often choose brackets that are clear or metallic, and sometimes you can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets. Wires are also less noticeable than they used to be, and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients. Our orthodontists also offer Invisalign clear braces, to help you achieve the smile you've always wanted without anyone ever being able to tell you're in orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontic treatment time typically ranges from one to three years, depending on the growth of the patient's mouth and face, and the severity of the problem. Patients grow at different rates and will respond variously to orthodontic treatment, so the time until case completion may differ from the original estimate. The patient's diligent use of any prescribed rubber bands, headgear, or clear alignersis an important factor in achieving the most efficient treatment. Interceptive or early treatment procedures may take as few as six months.

I will recommend Dr. Sanchez ti anyone. I read a lot reviews but after one year of visiting her practice I noticed that most patients are late and arrive with attitude to their appointments. Dr. Sanchez took care of my sister (sister's teeth came out perfect) teeth in 2012 and now I am her patient since 2021. In the first appointment for consultation, Dr. Sanchez gave me the price and explained the process clearly. I had visited other orthodontist in Manhattan and their prices where around 8,000 for metal braces. So, Dr. Zayda will take care of your teeth but it is a process that requires time and patience. Their staff is very friendly and bilingual especially Jane. Jane was assigned to me since 2021 and I never had a issue with her especially after I arrived late to a few appointments. There was a time when I broke one of the brakes and she took care of me without having an appointment. The office is always busy that's why I like to schedule my appointments first time in the morning. I believe that even if you are paying for treatment that doesn't allow you to be nasty. I like their practice and their staff.

At first teeth were looking fine with braces. Then I noticed one side was higher than the other. When I told Dr Sanchez she told me my bite was fine and I should go see another dentist for veneers. My teeth have stayed misaligned. Dr Sanchez tried her best but if she couldn't fix my teeth she should've told me before having me spend $3,200 from my own pocket. Horrible experience. I do not wish this on anyone else.

I was referred by Dr. Suresh Vakharia MDS, DDS, FAGD to Dr. Zayda Sanchez, a wonderful Dental specialist, and today I started my Orthodontics treatment. Trust me I highly recommend this place without a doubt. I guess time is a fact for anyone to believe when is your time no matter what is going to be. The entire team is just amazing.
