I, like many other people, have had a long-standing fear of dentists ever since I was a kid. This is the first dentist I've had where that is not the case. Dr. Morrissey and her team are fantastic at putting you at ease, making sure everything is clearly explained to you, and you're left with the feeling that they truly care about your dental health. Even the small talk (before your mouth is filled with dental tools) is engaging and there's nary a mention of the weather. Grace in the front office is a true gem of an employee and a model of what customer service should look like. She puts you in a relaxed state just from simple (and often super funny) conversations, and always makes sure that you understand everything from billing to medications, and beyond. If anyone's deserving of a raise, it's Grace. I'm sure it's rare to see someone saying that they had a great root canal experience, but I can genuinely say that about mine. I'll be recommending this dental office to everyone I know until they tell me to stop sending people their way.

Be careful! Glad I got a second opinion and saved thousands of dollars. The front office staff spent more time going over prices for future procedures than time I spent with the dentist. The staff member asked when I would be able to get the money together for these procedures, and said she would give me a $50 discount if I paid a small percent upfront that day. Felt like a high pressure sales environment, not a medical office. I went to Dr. Yan Morrissey after moving to Wilsonville and missing checkups throughout COVID. I was going in for a cleaning, mentioned I have sensitivity to cold on my intake papers. She did a "cold test" on a few teeth. It felt like a parlor trick, because now she is suggesting a crown for the tooth that felt the most pain when cold was applied. She said I may need a root canal, if it still hurt after the temporary crown was applied. But, the tooth didn't hurt when I walked in. It only hurt when she did a cold test, not even after. She then brought in a printout of my x-ray and said if I need a root canal, she will probably need to send me to another dental surgeon she works with, because my roots were deep. She checked my gum line and said the first thing I needed was a deep cleaning on 4 teeth. This would be $600 with insurance. When the office staff asked when I'd be able to come up with the money to make the appointment, I was starting to get suspicious, because I never gave any indication I couldn't pay for a necessary procedure immediately. I quickly made an appointment with my previous dentist in Portland for a second opinion. He asked me questions about the tooth pain that Dr. Morrissey didn't. He didn't see a reason for a crown. Most surprisingly, he checked my gum line and didn't find any teeth that had recessions deep enough for a scaling/deep cleaning. I may need crowns someday, but all the money talk while I was still in the chair set off alarm bells for me. [Check out the 5 star reviews that say they went in for a free checkup and were quickly back for major procedures.]

Village Dental is amazing! Dr. Morrissey is a fantastic doctor with extensive knowledge on the work she does. She truly cares about her patients and their wellbeing, and performs fantastic care. Grace is also fantastic. She is always there to help and provided me with an even better understanding of the importance of routine dental care and the procedure that I had. Village Dental also has very affordable prices and has accepted every insurance that I brought to them when changing jobs including Delta Dental, Principal , and United HealthCare. I am very grateful so be their patient. Thank you so much Dr. Morrissey and Grace for always being available for my Dental needs!

As a new patient, I felt very welcomed and all staff voiced interest in my questions and concerns. It was easy to procure an appointment and they were willing to accommodate my schedule. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere while receiving professional and competent service. It had been a while since I had been to the dentist, and the staff arranged for follow-up care to accommodate my needs before I left the office.

First time patient, called and got an appointment only 2 days later! Then got a follow up for more work the next week. Lovely professional staff.

Normally when I have my teeth cleaned I go about every 6 months, but between the pandemic and that I do take pretty good care of my teeth (for my age), in recent years I've been going about every 9 to 12 months (sometimes). What has occurred a few times over the last four or five years is that if I do go longer, I develop a little bit of edge staining on three or four of my lower front teeth. This can easily be taken off with one, if not both of the tools that a dental hygienist or dentist would use. After I returned from having my teeth (mostly) cleaned, I noticed that some of those stains were still there, but only on the side that Dr Yan was not. In hindsight, if I had asked for a mirror to check the work I would have noticed this then. But seeing that it was a dentist doing it, it didn't cross my mind. I figured between what seemed like 'rushing' on her part and that this is not normally what she does -- but only is because they do not have a dental hygienist on staff -- she's not as used to it as a hygienist would be, especially considering I've never had a hygienist miss anything seeing it's their entire job. Between the less expensive treatment cost at OHSU and that the juniors and seniors who work on your teeth are also checked by a proctor, this sort of thing isn't ever overlooked. To ask for more and get less doesn't sound like a good business (or hygiene) decision. I called about it the next day, but haven't heard anything for now 3 weeks.

The people at Village dental are seriously the best. From the moment I walked in, they were extremely nice and accommodating. Throughout my diagnostic and treatment they were extremely transparent and made sure to answer all of my questions in detail. The procedure (cavities) was painless and quick! I've been to a few other dentists in the area and Village dental is by far the best!
