Why does the dentist use an intraoral camera? An intraoral camera is a pen-sized camera that takes live images of your mouth, magnifies them, and projects them on-screen. With an intraoral camera, Dr. Kibbey can more accurately diagnose dental conditions, and he can share the information with you, chairside. Intraoral cameras also allow us to show you the effects of certain treatments, whether they're cosmetic, restorative, or periodontal cleanings, from a viewpoint that you might not otherwise receive. Intraoral cameras allow us to enhance your experience and allow you to become a more involved member of your dental treatment.

How long have you been in business? Dr. Kibbey graduated from Ohio State University with his DDS degree in 1976, and hes been practicing in Findlay since 1978. Weve been at our current location since 1980.

Most adults have lost at least one permanent tooth. In fact, statistics show that 69% of adults have suffered tooth loss. Replacing teeth when they fall out is essential to your long-term oral health, as well as your overall self-confidence. Whether youre looking to replace a single missing tooth, several missing teeth, or all of your teeth, dental implants can provide a stable, aesthetic, long-term solution.

The Anatomy of a Tooth Teeth have roots that extend into the jaw bone. These roots anchor the teeth and stimulate bone tissue. When a tooth and its root fall out, remaining teeth shift to fill the gap, and the jaw bone begins to whither and atrophy. Dental implants are the only tooth-replacement solution that mimics this tooth-root structure, thereby providing a stable foundation for your tooth and preventing bone loss.

The Anatomy of an Implant Like a natural tooth, an implant consists of an anchor and a crown. The anchor (manmade tooth root) is placed in the jaw bone. Over a period of a few months, the bone tissue fuses to the anchor, and the anchor stabilizes. Next, Dr. Kibbey can place a custom crown, bridge, partial, or denture to the implant(s), and you can lead your life as if you never lost any teeth to begin with.

Implants and Dentures Traditional dentures often prove uncomfortable for many patients, because they slip, click, or become ill-fitting over the years. Now, denture wearers have an alternative to removable prosthetics. With implant-supported dentures, the man-made tooth roots secure the denture and prevent embarrassing slippage. Implant-supported dentures do not require adhesives, and they will stimulate jaw-bone growth, so your dentures will fit better longer.

Long-Term Success Dental Implant technology has been used with a 98% success rate for over 25 years. Dr. Kibbey studied implant placement and restoration at the prestigious Misch Institute and the Midwest Implant Institute, and he has many years of experience with the technology. Patients with healthy bone tissue can generally rely on dental implants to last a lifetime.
