Dr. Fortenberry is the owner of Madison Dental Group. Having practiced in Madison since opening his office in 1990, Dr. Fortenberry is dedicated to creating warm relationships with his patients while striving to give them the best dental care possible. Dr. Fortenberry received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mississippi College in 1986, and he graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1990.
Dr. Fortenberry is a believer in staying ahead of the curve in his profession. In order to provide his patients with the best and most up-to-date practices and procedures, Dr. Fortenberry regularly completes continuing education courses covering a variety of topics in dentistry. He constantly strives to improve his clinical skills in order to better care for patients as he works to restore their mouths to healthy states. With the help of an incredible team whose experience and compassionate attitude is evident to all, Dr. Fortenberry works to ensure his patients feel comfortable and confident that Madison Dental Group will take excellent care of their dental needs.
Dr. Fortenberry is a native of Jackson and currently lives in Madison. He has been married to his wife, Stephanie, since 1990, and they have three sons: Austin, a high school English teacher; Jacob, a student at UMMCs School of Dentistry; and Jordan, a student at Madison-Ridgeland Academy. Dr. Fortenberry enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as spending time outdoors. He is a member of the City of Madison Chamber of Commerce, and he volunteers with the Caring Hands Clinic that provides free dental services to patients in Madison County. Dr. Fortenberry and his family attend Broadmoor Baptist Church.
Dr. Courtney Filgo grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She finished her undergraduate education at William Care University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Following college, she attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry and finished her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree in 2002. She is married to Dr. Bob Filgo, a veterinarian at All Creatures Animal Care Center in Madison. They have three daughters: Wesley, Wenston and Willa Dean. In her spare time, Dr. Filgo enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and participatingin dental mission work.
Dr. Ben Rudsenske grew up in Madison, graduated from Madison Central High School and attended Mississippi State University where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in biology. After undergraduate, he attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry for his doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. He is married to Natalie Rudsenke, MD, a local pediatrician. In his spare time he enjoys running, golfing and spending time with his dog, Navy.
Since 1990, Dr. Fortenberry has been providing dental services for children, teens, and adults in Madison and the surrounding areas. Madison Dental Group has always been a friendly, family-oriented practice, something that would not have been possible without an excellent team of competent and compassionate staff. The MDG team genuinely cares for and nurtures its patients, establishing relationships and demonstrating concern for all aspects of their patients lives. MDG works to put patients at ease, offering warm blankets, heated massage operatory chairs, and TVs for individual viewing, as well as nitrous oxide when needed. As a practice, MDG aims to treat everyone like a part of their family and wants to ensure patients dental experiences are both enjoyable and transformative.
Many patients are grateful that they can complete most of their treatments in one convenient location. MDG offers a variety of services including routine dental hygiene, preventive dental care, and cosmetic treatments. The mission of the practice is to provide patients with the best dental care possible, using state-of-the-art techniques and practices. MDG gives its patients an honest assessment of their dental needs, discusses their treatment options, and then determines the most effective pathway of care. The most crucial procedures are completed first, and they are performed in a time frame that fits the patients financial needs and scheduling constraints. MDG hopes that all patients have a positive experience in the office while the team works to render them free of dental disease and educate them on ways to prevent further problems.

I have 2 caps that Dr. Fortenberry placed that are much whiter than my other teeth. I have complained but since I didn't complain when they were first put on it's too bad, I am not happy with my generic glow in the dark white caps.

Everyone is extremely professional and very friendly. Felt like Family. I had a tooth surgically extracted and had no pain at all. I'm very impressed. This was my 1st visit here, but definitely will be back. By the way, the cost is very reasonable.

My wife has recently had crowns for two implants and a partial made by Dr. Fortenberry. She could not be more pleased with the results. The care you will receive at Madison Dental Group will be the most gentle and professional experience you will ever receive. The dentist and the entire staff make your visit a pleasant one.

Have been a patient of Dr. Fortenberry since we moved to Madison 20 years ago. Have found his patient care wonderful each visit. I've been administered to on most occasions by two different dental hygienists whose care has been above reproach. Dr. Fortenberry took care of me on one occasion in that period for a different reason, and I found him to be hospitable, caring, and efficient. I would recommend his practice to anyone.

Extremely nice facilities and excellent staff. Everyone is always friendly. Love the comfort provided during your visit as well, from the massage chairs to the TV above with headphones that you can control, it certainly helps time pass and keeps you at ease.

My dentist of many years closed his office and I went for a while without one. Finally my wife, Brenda, made an appointment for me at Madison Dental Group. She's been going there for years. I was a little nervous at first but everyone was very friendly and very professional. And, their covid 19 procedures were well thought out and well executed. I felt safe. A special thanks to Skylar for the great job she did cleaning my teeth. It had been a while for me and she took her time and did a phenomenal job. So, if you're looking for a new 'dental home' Check out Madison Dental Group. I'm there to stay. It's the final resting place for my tired old teeth. And I know that, with their help, my teeth will outlive me.

I am always amazed at the ease of going to my dentist office. The anxiety that I used to feel about going to the dentist office is gone. I am relaxed and ready to go and see the smiling faces that I see every time. Consistency is a good thing.
