A native of Durham, North Carolina, Dr. Scott graduated from Hillside High School in 1977. He then matriculated at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he finished with a BA in History in 1981.
Dr. Scott was accepted to the dental school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, graduating with his D.D.S. Degree in 1986. From 1986-87, he did a residency at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennesse. Dr. Scott has been a part of the professional community of Fayetteville, North Carolina since 1988.
He has been married to his wife Carolyn since 1988 and they have two adult children. Dr. Scott has been a sports fanatic since childhood, and he follows the Pittsburgh Steelers in football and the North Carolina Tarheels in college basketball. Dr. Scott has done missionary work overseas in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Liberia, and Ghana providing dental services.
