At Dr. Valerie Lakes office, our goal is to become your Dental Home. We provide high quality, evidence-based dental care with genuine concern for each patients individual needs. Our practice cultivates a family friendly atmosphere with regard to both our patients as well as our own team members. We create and nurture our relationships with patients, caring for them as we would our friends and family.
Dr. Lake grew up in Fort Wayne, and elected to return home to establish her dental career. She graduated from Snider High School, and went on to earn a Bachelors in Philosophy from Miami University (Ohio.) She attended Indiana University School of Dentistry, graduating in 2002.
During her first few years in dentistry, she worked in private practice as an associate dentist while participating in numerous capacities within local and state dental societies. Dr. Lake accepted the position of Dental Clinic Director at Matthew 25 Health & Dental Clinic in 2008, where she developed strong ties to this one-of-a-kind free clinic in downtown Fort Wayne. In 2013, she was presented with an excellent opportunity to own her own dental practice a longtime life goal for her. She enjoys serving in this family-friendly dental practice, on the southwest side of town.
Dr. Lake enjoys giving back to her community. She continues to see patients at Matthew 25, on a volunteer basis. Furthermore, she has volunteered at the Fort Wayne Childrens Zoo for over 10 years, providing dental care for animals when they develop dental problems. She is a proud wife and mother, and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family. Dr. Lake and her family have a small farm northwest of Fort Wayne, with horses, dogs and cats. She also enjoys horseback riding, hiking, landscaping and she is an avid reader.

Check-in was very efficient and quick. The office staff is very friendly.The waiting room is comfortable. My technician was very caring, gentle, and thorough but pleasant. My cleaning was completed without a hitch. Dr. Lake came in and examined my teeth and mouth health. She put together a plan of care for this year. I was escorted to check-out, made my next appointment and went on my merry way.

I can't say good enough things about the environment here. All the staff is so likable and welcoming. They all took their time to explain what was going on and what everything meant. What a great experience!

Hey folks what are you waiting for? This is a 5 star , triple capital AAA Dentist. Down to earth. Excellent Team. You can not buy peace of mind. She saved me10,000 over the previous dentist who made up that I had gum dease and on and on!!!! I only needed a cleaning case closed however I soon realized with the previous dentist someone had to pay for the Van Geo and Da Vinci in the previous office. Folks if you need to visit beautiful art that is what the art museum is for and the Dentist is all about your oral hygiene. Again you can't buy peace of mind and find a better Dentist than Valerie lake. I speak from personal experience and I feel safe in her dental seat with a super staff team. Have a wonderful visit and she is just a call away to get your mouth hygiene on track.

Dr. Lake is great to work for, I am going on 7 years with her. I am also her patient and trust her with my care as well as my family's care. If you want gentle care and an understanding care team contact the office. Oh and my husband is a big chicken or at least he was until getting work done by her, now he's not afraid to get treatment anymore!

Short version--doctor is intelligent and easy to talk to, they understood my dental insurance better than I did, and the work has been better than my prior dentist. Longer version--My first visit was a consultation that mapped out everything going on in my mouth, as well as exactly what would happen with my insurance billing. Doctor is down to earth and easy to talk to, and very smart. I had some work that needed a little correcting, and it is much better now. My hygienist was a little quiet but quickly I could tell the person was intelligent and good at being a hygienist. I recommend Dr Lake, especially if you're not sure if your current dentist is doing a great job. I'm glad I got a "second opinion" on my prior dentist. Oh, and the "hole in the wall" comment I saw in a prior review is a little bit dramatic. The office is older but it's nice and clean inside, and has lots of windows.

DO NOT GO HERE! Took my son today, besides being a hole in the wall, the hygienist came to waiting area and wanted to examine him. Was told on the phone at scheduling this was a pediatrics dentist... And once there was told by staff, well the doc has a 10 yr old kid! So what!!!! This place is dirty and should not be in business. And before Lakes staff reply to my comment to try and clean this review up , dont bother! Y'all need to clean up every aspect or shut down. My review stands.
