Striving to be our personal best means effort on our part to continue our education, which includes every V & R team member. We attend the ADA annual meeting, where leading speakers in the dentistry field teach us all of the latest; whats working and whats not.
Our team members remain with us for years, which allows us to build our knowledge and expertise together, as a unit. With all staff being on the same page, we are better able to provide consistent, optimum care for all of our patients. By investing in our team members, we are rewarded ten-fold by having a well-trained, cohesive team. As a patient, you will readily notice the difference this makes.
Often, one of the biggest hurdles to maintaining a healthy mouth is embarrassment. With over 25 years in practice, there isn't anything we have not seen and accommodated. After missing a dental cleaning or two, Dr. Vail was so embarrassed to have her hygienist see her teeth that she contemplated going to another state under an assumed name to have her teeth cleaned! We understand.
At Vail and Robson, we understand dental anxiety and take it seriously. Our single biggest hurdle is your trust a word often thrown around and used lightly, but is absolutely necessary in moving forward with treatment.
There are many options for treatment, and they will be prioritized to fit your situation. If you cant afford or desire to do all of your dental treatment at once, then we can discuss a plan that suits your needs. Well go at your pace.
After 25 years of taking care of patients, I can still say that I love what I do! Dentistry is a profession that is very personal, and maybe even a bit scary for some. I understand that it takes trust to let someone work in your mouth. I will do everything in my power to make procedures comfortable for you and to ensure, beforehand, your understanding of what needs to be done and why and what the cost will be.
The culmination of all of the parts of my life as a mother, a wife, step-mother, sister, aunt and friend, have taught me that relationships are what matter most in life. For me, building long-term relationships is what makes coming to the office so much fun.
Sally attended Loyola University of Chicago, School of Dentistry, Lake Forest College, and the University of South Florida.Continuing education is one of the ways Sally remains excited about her career. She has taken extensive courses in cosmetic dentistry, implants, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
'It may be hard to believe, but I have wanted to be a dentist since I was a teenager. This early goal inspired an academic path to Lehigh University and then to Northwestern Universitys School of Dentistry. After graduating, my husband James, who is also a dentist, took me on a three year honeymoon in Guam, compliments of the U.S. Navy.
The opportunity to practice in Guam helped shape how I feel patients should be treated. It is important to me that my patients are treated with respect as individuals, not just a number. My philosophy is to advise people about the best course of action, but feedback from the patient is essential in determining their path to a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.
Continuing education is a priority for me in order to stay current on all aspects of dentistry. I have placed a strong emphasis on full-mouth reconstruction and implants as well as preventative dentistry. Participating in a study club and sharing cases with other local general dentists and specialists expands my knowledge and benefits my patients.
The partnership that Ive shared with Dr. Sally Vail since 1998 has offered us both the comfort of knowing our patients are well cared for when one of us is unavailable, and sometimes our patients get the benefit of a second opinion, in-house.
Because giving back to the community is important to me, I also volunteer with my church and Salems school system. While Im out of the office, my family enjoys skiing, biking and visiting with extended family.'
