Dr. Darcy was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, and has been practicing in NM for 4.5 years. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontists. She played soccer at Marquette and received her undergraduate in biomedical engineering. After completing her dental degree she completed her orthodontic residency in Portland. We are so excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Haltom Orthodontics. In her free time, Dr. Darcy enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.

When choosing an orthodontist, it is important to pick someone you can trust. Not all orthodontists are board certified, in fact, it's only 1 in 3. The American Board of Orthodontics certification is a unique achievement. Both Drs. Haltom are BOARD CERTIFIED.

The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) is the only orthodontic specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. ABO was founded in 1929, the ABO sets the standard for the highest level of patient care. The process involves a thorough written examination (240 questions) covering all areas of information which an orthodontist should be knowledgeable. Successful completion of this board exam allows the orthodontist to proceed to the clinical side of the examination where they present detailed case reports from their practice/residency, demonstrating a history of excellence in patient care. A panel of examiners will review each case which will be discussed during an oral examination where the applicant is tested on a wide variety of academic and clinical topics. After successful completion of these exams, the orthodontist has officially achieved Board Certification, good for 10 years.

ABO Board Certification is the orthodontists choice for credentialing that represents a personal and public commitment to the standards of specialty practice and a lifetime of learning. The ABO Certification process requires the completion of peer-developed, externally validated written and clinical examinations. Once all examinations are completed, the orthodontist will reach board certification.
