While still in dental school, Dr. Tom spent a month in the Dominican Republic providing free dentistry for families in the village of Guanabano. He also volunteered in an after hours dental clinic for a number of years while in Omaha, Nebraska.
Starting in 2012, Dr. Tom worked for a practice in Freeport, Il. He has taken over 200 hours of continuing education on various topics such as: Invisalign, dental implants, braces, root canal therapies, occlusal rehabilitation, and many other advanced areas of dentistry. Dr. Tom transitioned into Dr. Charles Kallstrom's practice in Geneva in 2014 and then into Dr. Harry Krauspe's practice in Elburn in 2017. He constantly reinvests in his education and believes the first step in dentistry is to listen to the patient.
Dr. Tom has volunteered his time at the in St. Charles where he provided free dental care for the underserved. Dr. Tom has been active in the Boy Scouts of America community (he is an Eagle Scout with Gold Palms) and is a merit badge counselor for various merit badges, including dentistry. If scouts from any troop have an interest in the dentistry merit badge, he will be more than willing to work with them.
Annie has been a full time registered dental hygienist for over 18 years and an active philanthropist for nearly 13. She has many interests and a passion for life and people. While honoring her profession as a clinician, she most appreciates the opportunity to connect with people and to hear their stories. Much of her joy in working in this office is due to the meaningful relationships she's built amongst her patients over the past 14 years. She is a dedicated employee with a heart for reaching out to those in most need.
Annie is also president and founder of Hands with Hope, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that provides international dental care and training to underdeveloped communities. She is committed to advancing her work and making a difference in the lives of others. In her free time she can be found exploring new adventures and enjoying time with her friends and family.
Kathy has been with the dental practice since 2005 when she joined Dr. Kallstrom, and now currently enjoys working with Dr. Tom. She thinks Dr. Tom is an excellent dentist and her kids love him! Kathy is married with three beautiful children and spends her free time with them. Kathy enjoys working with the great staff and finds her job fun and rewarding.
Tammy joined our team in May 2015 with over 10 years of experience in the dental field as a dental assistant and insurance/treatment plan coordinator. She enjoys working with Dr. Tom and his great team who provides strong patient focused care. By taking additional courses, she is certified for coronal polishing and placing sealants. Tammy loves the opportunity to work with leading dental technology in our office. In her free time, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially with her husband and their dog Yuka.
Dalia has been in the dental field for over 13 years as a dental assistant. She went to Elgin Community College for her certification in coronal polishing and fluoride. She likes to keep the office organized and enjoys helping Dr. Tom create smiles. The smile of patients before leaving is the most important thing to her. Outside of work, Dalia is a mother of two daughters and one son. She enjoys going to the gym four times a week and believes in eating healthy. She also loves to go to the movies and bowling with her family.
