I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and proudly attended the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Following graduation, I served five years in the U.S. Navy. With dentistry in my blood (both my grandfather and father were dentists) I attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. Upon graduation from dental school, I chose to open my practice in Cary, NC in 2004 with a philosophy to practice dentistry placing an emphasis on prevention and conservative care thereby minimizing interventions and invasive procedures for my patients. Being a solo practitioner provides me the opportunity to devote the time and focus required to give appropriate care to each of my patients. This model also has the benefit of continuity of care for all my patients.
I have two awesome kids, Courtney and Ethan both of whom are avid tennis players as am I. One of my favorite things to do outside of work is play tennis with them. Family vacations usually involve snowboarding or a trip to the beach when we can schedule them around tennis tournaments.
Originally from the Pittsburgh area, Dr. Grinder move to Chapel Hill in 1979 to take a position as a staff Respiratory Therapist at UNC Memorial Hospital. After working there for four years, Dr. Grinder decided to change careers and graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1987.
Aftergraduation, Dr. Grinder opened his private practice and has been serving the Cary/Apex area for over 32 years. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society.
Raised in Clayton, I am a North Carolina native. I currently reside in Sanford, NC with my son and husband. My husband is serving the country in the Airforce. We have a smart and rambunctious son who keeps us very busy and we are expecting our second child. My passion for dentistry started when I was a little girl and wanted to be like my mother, who is a dental hygienist. I followed in her footsteps and received my Bachelors in Science degree in Dental Hygiene from University of North Carolina-GO HEELS! I am excited to be able to help our community and patients understand why oral hygiene is important.
My name is Zoje (pronounced like Zoe). My family is Albanian and I grew up in Kosovo. I came to the US with my husband after my first son was born. We raised our family in upstate NY where I worked in a dental office for 18 years. I recently relocated to NC to be with my sons. I am excited to be apart of Dr. Garcias team and work with him as his dental assistant. I look forward to meeting you and helping in any way that I can!
I am a Charlotte, NC native and have been married 27 years to a wonderful Air Force veteran. We are blessed with three boys, who are all Eagle Scouts, and two fur babies. I enjoy outdoor adventures and traveling with my family as well as being involved in our community. I have a B.S. in Sports Medicine and an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. I found my passion for dentistry while stationed abroad when volunteering with the American Red Cross in a dental setting. I have been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2011 and absolutely love helping patients obtain and maintain optimal oral health, along with seeing their beautiful smiles.
You have a southern name, is often what I am told. Or Is there a song by that name? Yes, both are true. Although I enjoy living in the South, I was born in Trinidad (an island in the Caribbean). As for my name, I was named after my mother, Barbara.
I grew up in Orlando, Florida and moved to North Carolina in 2010. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (Concentration in Creative Writing) from Florida State University and an Associates of Applied Sciences Degree in Dental Hygiene from Wake Technical Community College.
Hello current and future patients: Welcome to our practice. I am here to help! I began my career in the dental field as a file clerk my senior year in high school in south Florida where I grew up. When I moved to North Carolina in 1994, I found Dr. Grinder and have been working for him for 24 years. I have extensive knowledge of insurance and billing issues and will help in any way that I can to ensure you are getting the most benefit from your policy. I was raised in the small town of Harford, Pennsylvania and moved to North Carolina with my husband in 2015. I have 4 grown children (2 of my own and 2 step children), and 4 puppy dogs (Cricket, Lily, Zoie, and Ramsey). I have been in the dental field since 2002, starting as a dental assistant, then a surgical assistant in 2012, and decided to move to the front desk in 2016 due to back troubles. I look forward to serving our patients and helping with any questions or concerns you may have.

My visit to Dr. Garcia's office was excellent. The staff observed scrupulous hygiene, meeting me in the hallway outside the office, escorting me to my examination room, and so on. Very high-tech equipment! Hygienist was thorough but very gentle, and Dr. Garcia is very skillful and also, gentle. Five star experience!

I am very happy with Dr. Garcia's dental work. He is very professional and will take care of what my teeth's need without suggesting other work that I do not need!!! I use to be a patient of Dr Grinders. Left do to insurance. After years of being away and being missed diagnosed by a dentist twice, I returned to the practice. I am extremely confident in Dr. Garcia and his staff. Always greeted with a smile, understanding, and they put my concerns first. Would highly recommend this practice.

I had my first visit with Dr. Garcia's office this month, and I was very pleased. Sheila, the dental hygienist, established a great rapport right away. That is important. She was very attentive to my concerns and questions, and her treatment was delivered with great care. When Dr. Garcia came in, the good rapport and attentiveness continued. I felt very much at ease. He gave me the treatment options with pros and cons and was empathetic with my concerns. There was no pressure toward any one treatment, and I felt my concerns were treated with care and compassion. I am very happy to have found my new dental care team!

Have gone to Dr. Garcia ever since I first moved here - years ago. He is great - kind and gentle and my teeth look great - I get compliments on my teeth, smile, etc., and questions about who my dentist is!
