Dr. Brilliant loves to create beautiful, healthy smiles for his patients. After growing up in Long Island, NY, he attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Resource Ecology and Management.Dr. Brilliant continued his education at the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He then continued onto a residency at the San Diego Veterans Administration Hospital.Over the past few years he has practiced in Santee and most recently in Ramona.
Dr. Brilliant is committed to continuing his education and is active in the dental community. He is an active member in many organizations including the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Association. He considers himself a lifelong learner and frequently attends conferences to remain up-to-date on the latest diagnostic and treatment advances.
Outside of the office, Dr. Brilliant enjoys living in the Rancho Bernardo Area of San Diego where he lives with his wife Sharon and two school-age sons Jonah and Cameron. Dr. Brilliant loves to follow many professional sports, but escapes to the beach for runs whenever he can. He also enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors. Dr. Brilliant enjoys humor and has recently found a creative outlet for expressing his interest. He enjoys making quirky pictures, videos and sculptures about family, friends and dentistry.
Joey joins our team with over 18 years of dental experience and truly loves all aspects of managing a dental practice. With her combined back and front office experience she can help answer any of the patients questions or concerns. Joeys top priority is to create exceptional patient experiences with compassion and honesty. When Joey is not working she is spending her time with her husband of 20 years and their three children.
Bethany joined our team in early 2017 as a Registered Dental Assistant. With knowledge ranging from cosmetic to surgical dentistry she is our lead assistant and keeps our back office running smoothly. In her free time she enjoys competing on her horse and spending time with her husband and their two dogs
Maureen first started in the dental field as an assistant and, after completing further training, has worked many years as a hygienist. Maureen and her husband are longtime residents of Escondido and together they have a daughter and son-in-law. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, hiking and playing her latest sport -- pickleball! She is happy to be a part of the Brilliant Dental team where she can continue the practice of quality and caring dentistry.
Sharon Beth assists with business development and growth. She is passionate about ensuring that patients have the best possible dental experience. Sharon Beth has been married to Dr. Brilliant since 2009 and the couple have two young sons together. Sharon Beth is also a practicing speech-language pathologist. In her free time she enjoys dancing, hiking and learning about wellness.

Dr. Todd Brilliant is an incredible practitioner. He cares about his patients, listens to concerns, and provides service with knowledge and expertise. He is not your average dentist or even a good dentist. He is EXCELLENT! Dental anxiety? No problem. Brilliant Dental Team makes you feel comfortable every step of the way. I called to get a quote for my mother and I was quoted $296 if she paid cash for the entire first visit with everything she needed to get done. After she was done with her appointment they charged her $392. I called immediately after she told me and they just said there's nothing they could do. They didn't bother helping at all to figure out why I was given the wrong quote. My mother canceled all future visits and will never go back.

This is the best dental team I've ever experienced; I relocate often, so I have probably been to at least ten different dentists and this office is without a doubt the best! They were out of network for me, but came highly recommend. After having a bad experience at a "chain" dental group, I called Dr. Brilliant's office and requested a rough estimate for the services the other practice strongly encouraged me to have. The Brilliant team had me come in for an exam and advised I didn't need all the work the other practice said I needed. They provided an estimate for the one thing they did agree with. Despite being out of network, my cost at Dr. Brilliant's office was going to be less than what I was quoted for the in-network provider who had added a lot of unnecessary fees. On top of this being a good financial decision, everyone you interact with on this team is WONDERFUL. Dr. Brilliant, the hygienists (who have a gentle touch), the assistants and the front office team - all absolutely wonderful! Not only did Joey in the front office go above and beyond with my insurance, she seemed genuinely happy to do so. I can't say enough good things!

I highly recommend Brilliant Dental! Dr. Todd Brilliant and his staff went over and above to treat my grandmother, who is in her 90s. Dr. Brilliant has an incredible bedside manner, and helped make difficult decisions easier for us when it came to extracting teeth. He personally helped with getting grandmother's bridge adjusted. Brilliant Dental's service, expertise, and caring team made the drive to Escondido well worth it.

Dr. Brilliant and his team are wonderful! I've been a patient with them for many years now (since Dr. Holtz was still in practice) and I can't say enough about the service they provide. I'm sure most people wouldn't consider a trip to the dentist to be a "pleasant" experience, but each member of the staff is so warm and welcoming-- you immediately feel at ease when you walk through the door. Marci has always done all of my regular cleanings and she is fantastic! I've also been seeing Christy and Dr. Brilliant bi-weekly, as I recently decided to correct some spacing issues by using invisible aligners. They are both very caring and attentive and have always taken the time to listen and address any questions or concerns I've had. Sharon and Melinda make all of the scheduling and billing a breeze! I would highly recommend Brilliant Dental to anyone looking for a dentist in the North County area!

Saw Dr. Brilliant for an urgent broken tooth for the first time based upon a good friend's recommendation. The visit was pleasant and efficient. I felt like I was a long time patient. Staff and service is marvelous and I would recommend Dr. Brilliant to anyone without hesitation for dental care.

I have been with this dental office for over 30 years. This office has a very professional and courteous staff. I am currently having two procedures at the same time: whitening and straightening. In addition to regular cleaning and dental procedures, I'm more than satisfied with every aspect of my dental care at Brilliant in Escondido.

This is a great office full of friendly professionals. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Three generations of my family have been seeing this office and nobody has ever had a problem. And don't forget to brush and floss!

My front teeth broke when I was in elementary school. I grew up not wanting to smile much cause I was embarrased. I went to different dentists and no one could give me that natural look. I was recommended to Dr. Brilliant thru a friend and he did a fantastic job. I feel very proud of my new teeth and people compliments my smile all the time. I love it.
