It was in grade school when I decided to pursue a dental career. I moved to Racine during my high school years and took all the required science courses at St. Catherine's and then went on to UW-Racine and Dominican College. I received my dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry and began my practice on State Street (above the now gone Erickson's Drug Store). In 1967 I joined Ron Lamberton and began Spring Dental Group and in 1977 we moved into our present office. My dental education is ongoing as new products and procedures evolve each year. This continuing challenge and the many people I have met and served over the years make me glad I found this profession.

Out of the office hours find me involved with dental issues, serving on several dental committees and task forces for the Racine and Wisconsin Dental Association and the American Dental Association including chairing the Legislative Committee for the WDA and District Trustee to the WDA Board of Trustees. In 2006 I was given the WDA Pyramid of Pride Award for Dental Political actions. Locally, I volunteer at Racines Healthcare Network. My memberships include the American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, Wisconsin Dental Association, Racine County Dental Society, and am a Fellow of dental honor organizations, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.

In summary, I enjoy working with my partners, staff, friends and patients at Spring Dental Group. They have all helped create a fun, positive, environment where we can provide high quality dental care for patients of all ages.

Replacement is 'in me' because of my father losing his left leg when I was young. My very tough father struggled with not so good prosthetics inspiring my interest in replacing 'missing parts'. The science and art of dentistry became my life 's profession. I love helping my patients become whole again by replacing missing tooth structure with fillings, veneers, crowns, implants, and bridgework.

I am passionate about thorough examination and empowering my clients with options to comfortably achieve their goals. By using photography and conversation clients are offered the opportunity to co-diagnose. The coolest thing for patients is regenerative dentistry: Growing new gum and bone! Clients are amazed at how we grow new gum to cover their tooth recession. Alloderm grafts require no second (donor) surgical site. Bone regeneration can occur with a laser procedure known as LANAP. I pride myself on developing lasting relationships with clients emphasizing mutual trust and commitment to individual care.

Curriculum Vitae: Marquette University School of Dentistry in top 10%, honored by election to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, 12-month general dentistry residency, honored as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, published by the Journal of the Wisconsin Dental Association, taught at Marquette U. School of Dentistry since 1995, promoted to Associate Adjunct Professor 2004 responsible for teaching digital dental photography and more, thousands of hours of continuing education from meetings with The Pankey Institute, The Dawson Academy, ADA, Wisconsin Dental Association, American Equillibration Society, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, and American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Periodontology, The Osteology Foundation, and others.

A Burlington High School graduate, I continue to enjoy living in my childhood neighborhood. I love reading, sailing, backpacking, fly angling, and paddling. I am a Racine Dragonboat Club member and have paddled competitively in the U.S., Canada, and in the 2014 Dragon Boat World Championships in Italy. My bride Nancy is from Ontario. I enjoy giving back to our community through the Beacon Circle of the United Way, other charities, and with donated dental services.

I love surprising my patients with how easily their dental needs can be addressed. There has never been a better time to be a dentist. The technology available today, when applied correctly, allows us to consistently exceed peoples expectations.

A lifelong resident of Racine, I graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry, and have been in practice at Spring Dental Group since 1988. With additional education in the areas of esthetics and implant dentistry, I am glad to help you explore all options to achieve your desired result.

When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, working outdoors, and tinkering with my antique truck. I am also involved with the Racine Healthcare Network free dental clinic, on the board of directors of a local ministry and an elder in my Church.

Building relationships and being with my patients from the start of their dental needs to the point of health is what I love about dentistry. My desire to provide patient-centered, complete dentistry is perfectly aligned with Spring Dental Group as a whole, which is why I am so glad to have joined them in 2017.

Born and raised in Racine (just a couple miles north of Spring Dental), I attended Racine Christian School and St. Catherine's High School. After college, at Marquette University, I entered the healthcare world becoming a medical and cardiac sonographer, doing ultrasounds. Originally considering dentistry in college, I wanted to be more for my patients than I could doing ultrasound. I committed myself to a career in oral health and graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry.

When I'm not at Spring Dental I enjoy spending time with my wife Andrea (who worked at the front desk here at Spring Dental from 2000-2011) and our 2 kids, Grayson and Evangeline. We love to spend time outdoors exploring in whatever season Wisconsin has us. I am involved as a board member of a local church/ministry.
