For this reason, our office strictly maintains sterilization and cross contamination processes that meets or surpasses OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Center for Disease Control) standards as well as standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA).
We use onlyindependent, locally-owned dental laboratories, rather thandistant vendors. We absorb this extra cost without passing it on to you, our patient, because we believe the quality its superior, and because more of your moneyremains in our community. Dr. Tina-Lise Curtis has practiced as a dentist for 24 years. She loves the Santa Cruz coastal environmentand the outdoor recreational opportunites that abound on the Monterey Bay. Prior to moving toSanta Cruzseveralyears ago,Dr. Curtispracticed in San Francisco andMarin County for over 20years.
Having worked both in the public sector and in private practice, Dr. Curtis has decades of experience in all aspects of dental care to patients; including diagnosis and treatment planning, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery and periodontics.
Dr. Curtis recieved her Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1993. Prior to studying at UOP, she received a B.S. in Biological Sciences, concentration in Anatomy & Physiology from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo.
To ensure that her patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care, Dr. Curtis has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, with a primary focus on oral surgery, pediatrics, pathology and restorative dentistry. Dr. Curtis is Laser certified.
Dr. Curtis has a talent for building excellence in patient relationships, achieved through a genuine concern for patient satisfaction and a strong commitment to patient health via excellent oral health.
In her spare time, Dr. Curtis can be found walking on the beach, mountain biking in Nicene-Marks, swimming at Simpkinsor hiking the trails of our coastal redwood forests with her husband Dave and their dog Roscoe. Dr. Curtis has three sons, Will, Wes and Sam.

I have a very serious fear of dentists and then my friends turned me on to Dr. Tina-Lise Curtis, she and her entire staff are kind, supportive and very good at what they do. I still have my life long fear but this team makes it so much easier to handle this obvious necessity, I actually enjoy going just to see them! I wish I would have known them sooner but better late than never.

The Santa Cruz area is a wonderful community, a University College Town, a Destination Beach Resort, and very close to the Bay Area. We are incredibly privileged to live in a wonderful community. We enjoy many things in this area including access to world class medical care. The Concept of Community extends to the Concept of Family. Dr Tina-Lise Curtis approaches dental care with a sense of community and a sense of family. Her professional outlook fits nicely with the tone and tenor of Santa Cruz: concerned, caring, friendly, and competent. Dr. Curtis takes a personal interest in individual patients and a visit to her office feels more like visiting a "Your Next Door Neighbor" that you like very much or a long time "Family Friend." The Goals and objectives set forth in her office WebSite are not purely platitudes and things that they hope will occur. Our experience has been that the entire staff takes a very personal interest in learning about individual personalities and the unique challenges that each patient might face regarding dental care. Further, Dr Curtis' approach is very gentle and skilled. I never recall an "Ouch Moment" while under her care. Actually, I look forward to my visits and conversations with Dr. Curtis. All in all, the Santa Cruz community is very fortunate to have this particular caring approach in a local dental office.
