Patients are the most important people at Tim Choy, DMD! We like to think of ourselves as the 'Nordstrom of Dentistry' because our team enjoys getting to know our patients and providing them with the exceptional service and care they want for their own family members.

We'll spend time getting to know you when you visit our Redwood City dental office, and you can take some time to learn about us here first so you'll feel right at home when you arrive. We know you will love the one-on-one attention and personalized service you receive when you visit us, and we can't wait to hear from you!

Kind, caring, and ever the perfectionist, Dr. Tim Choy, DMD has been happily helping Bay Area patients reach their dental goals since 2001. A proud native of Austin, Texas, he now calls the Peninsula his home.

Dr. Choy received his B.A. in Human Biodynamics from UC-Berkeley in 1996 and went on to attend Temple University, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2001. He first realized his passion for dentistry while working as a volunteer at the Berkeley Free Clinic. This clinic was built on donations to allow disadvantaged people access to health care. What Dr. Choy enjoys the most about dentistry is the unique ability to make a positive change in a persons overall health and quality of life!

Tania was born and raised in the Bay Area, and she's been with our practice since the summer of 2013. Tania appreciates working with such a positive and wonderful team. Because she loves to help people, she finds dentistry very rewarding.

When she's not at the dental office, Tania really enjoys spending time at home with family and her dogs. Low-key, relaxing activities with friends like watching a series or a movie together or hiking are her favorite things to do. She also loves to travel, and she's grateful to have been able to explore many places in the past.

Minnie is originally from Port St. Lucie, FL. Minnie holds a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of the Pacific. She's been taking care of patients at our Redwood City dental office for four years.

When she's not taking care of patients, you will probably find her trying different baking and cooking recipes. She also enjoys researching and trying out different at-home remedies for oral health and skincare. She believes in continuous personal growth and enjoys reading self-improvement books as well. If she's reading multiple books at once, she likes to read one fantasy or fiction book, one self-improvement book, and one Christian book.

Gloria has been a Registered Dental Assistant for over 10 years and has a wealth of experience assisting in all aspects of dentistry. Patients love her comforting demeanor because it puts them at ease.

Alejandra grew up in Daly City, CA, and she's been with the practice for over two years. Interacting with our patients and creating a warm and friendly environment is her favorite part of her job. She's also grateful to be part of a wonderful and talented team that works well together.

When she's not with patients, Alejandra likes going for long walks along the bay while listening to music. She also enjoys learning and educating herself on health and nutrition. She coordinates ACA meetings and offers her experience, strength, and hope to her fellow members. Spending time with her son and husband is very important to her, whether watching a movie, playing board games or video games, going for a bike ride, or cooking meals together.

'What I love about working at this practice is that we all share the same vision and dedication in regards to patient care, which isn 't always easy to find. I feel lucky I have found it here at Team Choy!'

In her free time, Ali loves volunteering, learning new things, and crafts! She pours her heart and soul into giving back to our community by volunteering for organizations that help our youth. When she's not volunteering or trying to learn new things, you'll probably find her experimenting with new recipes, or more likely building fairy gardens.

Truly a dedicated staff in an organized, warm and welcoming office with sufficient parking on site. They're modern as all dental offices should be (but aren't). And of course... Dr. Choy himself, a respectful and smart, young Dentist. I'm also confident that my medical information is being kept safe and secure, and that if needed, my dental records & information will be available for future referencing.

Dr. Choy has changed my opinion about going to the dentist. He and his staff do wonderful work and they have taken my previous expectation of enduring at least some pain while at the dentist and made me realize it can be painless. He replaced every old silver filling I have with white and now you can't even tell I have any fillings. Everyone that works at the practice is great at their job and does quality work - I highly recommend Dr. Choy - I'd give him 6 stars if I could.

I consulted with Dr. Choy about a front tooth with a root canal, crown and a broken fiber post. He felt that the tooth wall was too thin to attempt to drill out the post and replace the existing crown. I went back to the dentist in Washington DC who had fitted the crown and fiber post that snapped off (when I was extracting marrow from a chicken bone.) For free, he installed a new post, titanium this time, and managed to re-use the crown. It has held for four month and seems likely to last for years. Dr. Choy recommended going the periodontic practice of Mike Jee and Grace Ng for an implant that entails a healing period of up to a year. That meant leaving a missing tooth in front, or having a problematic retainer having a single fake tooth, and a new crown, at an expense of at least $4000. The initial consult with Dr. Choy was inexpensive. I'm giving him a "good" rating, but I was very happy that I went back to the original dentist, who essentially warranted his earlier work and was willing to perform a fix that could end up being quite durable, with far less inconvenience and cost.
