A prosthodontist can restore optimum appearance to your teeth and replace missing teeth. Prosthodontists have an additional three years of advanced education. This additional training is completed through a university or hospital based full-time program. Dentists in this kind of training receive extensive classroom instruction, complete clinical treatment of patients, and participate in laboratory courses. Prosthodontists are masters of complete oral rehabilitation.

Dr. Valerie McMillans prosthodontics training and Master of Science in Dentistry was completed at The Ohio State University in 2009. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at The Ohio State University in 2006. Dr. McMillan was selected for Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society, as well as received several awards for general clinical and academic excellence. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology, also from The Ohio State University, 2002. Currently, she is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, American Dental Association, and the Dayton Dental Society.

Dr. McMillan grew up in Troy, Ohio and now lives with her husband and children in Dayton. Her husband, John McMillan, is a dental technician with artistic talent and more than 30 years of experience. They both are passionate about dentistry as well as teaching dentistry and dental technology to others. They enjoy time at the practice as well as time at home, John enjoys skateboarding, and Valerie loves to cook.
