Dr. Thomas O'Leary grew up in the small town of North East, Pennsylvania. Hisgrandfather, Marcellus O'Leary, started a dental practice and was later joined by his father, Robert, and uncle, Joseph. Growing uparound dentistry ina small town environment, Dr. O'Leary has always seen dentistry as a serviceprovided to thelocal community.He is committed to delivering honest, affordable, high-quality dentistry to his patients.
Dr. O'Leary received his undergraduate degree from The University of Notre Dame and his dental degree from TheUniversity of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He then completed a one-year anesthesia residency at UNC Hospitals. His training makes him uniquely qualified to offer many levels dental sedation.
During dental school, Dr. O'Leary met his wife Ryan who at the timewasattending medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill.Theymoved toSalt Lake City, Utah for three years while Ryan completed a residency in pediatric medicine. They then returned to Huntersville, North Carolina. Dr. O'Leary joined a partnership in Cornelius, were he practice for 12 years. They have three sons: Aidan, Finnegan, and Brecken.
In 2014, Dr. O'Leary decided to leave his partnership and begin his own practice, Thomas O'Leary Dentistry. He strongly believes in putting the patient first and will take the time to discusseach patient'sdental needs and desires. Then he will present patients with treatment options and cost. This approach allows the patient to decide which treatment best suits their needs. Dr. O'Leary's goal is to help each patient achieve a healthy beautiful smile.
Dr. Stacey Metty, originally from the Raleigh, NC area, loved dentistry from a young age. After falling and breaking her front tooth when she was a pre-teen, she was curious about dentistry and started exploring the career, starting with following her pediatric dentist around his office when she was a freshman in high school. Dr. Metty went on to UNC Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree. She decided to stay for four more years and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2015. She and her husband spent two years enjoying Charleston, SC before returning to North Carolina in 2017. Dr. Metty joined Thomas OLeary Dentistry in late 2019 and enjoys serving patients alongside Dr. OLeary and the team here.
Dr. Metty and her husband live in Cornelius with their three adopted teenagers, two cats, and eight chickens. Their family enjoys mountain biking, hiking, paddling or motoring around Lake Norman, and going to the US National Whitewater Center. Dr. Metty likes to do puzzles and read when she has a quiet moment (which is rare in her house).
Of the 15 years shes been in dentistry, Johanna has spent eleven of them working side-by-side with Dr. OLeary. She previously studied dental assisting at Central Piedmont Community College and grew up in Syracuse, NY. Shes been married to her husband since 2012, and together they have an amazing son and three dogs. Away from work she enjoys running, kickboxing, and the beach. She also enjoys spending as much time with her family as possible.
Stacy has been a part of Dr OLearys dental team for a year, but actually was his previous dental assistant back in 2002. She is from Charlotte and has been married since 2011. Stacy is a proud mom of two teenage boys and a beautiful golden doodle named Sailor. She enjoys gardening, decorating, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Stacy loves meeting and being able to help people in her local community which makes her very passionate about her job.
Hannah is originally from Concord, NC. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hannah has been in the dental profession for over 14 years, 13 of those with Dr. OLeary. She loves meeting new people and helping them feel comfortable and at ease during their dental experience. Hannah has been married to her husband for 12 years and together they have one son. She loves traveling, camping, attending her sons sporting events and spending time with her family.
Leigh went to UNCC and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, then continued on to CPCC where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been in the dental field for 16 years, 13 of which have been with Dr OLeary. Leigh is from North Carolina and has been married to her husband since 2004. They have a son and a daughter together. In her free time, Leigh enjoys attending her daughters horse competitions and her sons baseball games. She is also a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Doctor Metty is an amazing dentist who truly wants what's best for her patients. One of the best Dental offices I've ever visited. Would recommend to anybody!

Dr. O'Leary simply is the best dentist around! He's very compassionate, pays attention to detail, does impeccable dentistry and pretty much the kindest human you'll ever meet! I've been a patient for over 15 years.

I've avoided the dentist for YEARS. But this office is great! Between cleanings and a few fillings, my wife, son and I have been to the office 6 times in the last month or so. Every appointment has been on time, the work was thorough and timely, and the staff were great. Very good with kids. Thorough Covid protocols. Clear and correct billing. Literally feel silly avoiding the dentist now...

I did not find this dentist compassionate. He was not up to date on latest dental procedures. He very aggressively filled a cavity of mine and did not rotate the burr once. This was a very unpleasant experience for me.

My family and I love this office! The ladies are all so caring and make everyone really feel welcome! Dr.O'Leary is amazing with adults and kids. My husband, myself and our 3 and 5 year old all go here and we couldn't be happier with them!!

Went above and beyond! Came in on Friday Evening of Labor day weekend to attend to my tooth problem. O'leary is professional and straightforward. Hes got my stamp of approval.

This was my first time visiting Dr. O'Leary. He is very friendly and listens to the patient. He makes you feel comfortable and is honest when recommending treatment. Leigh was my hygienist. She is amazing. Highly recommended. Thank you Dr. O'Leary and Leigh.

I started going to Dr. O'Leary when his office moved to Statesville. It was the friendliest, most caring staff I have ever encountered. Dr. O'Leary is an excellent dentist, also very caring and concerned about individual needs. When their office moved back to Huntersville, i continued to go to this practice and will continue in the future.

Told me that he would give me a free checkup because they messed up and told me my insurance was good. Turns out that he didn't accept my insurance. 3 months later I get a $100 bill from him for dental checkup.

I love Dr. O'Leary and his whole staff! I started going there when they were in Statesville and they moved to Huntersville but I still continue to go because I am so pleased with the service. Highly recommend!

Dr O'Leary and all of his staff offer the benefit of a very professional practice, yet have that appeal of a small family business. They offer gentle and sedation dentistry which appeals to all family members and treat each patient with individual attention and care.

I am very pleased with the service and attention I received with Dr. O'Leary. He doesn't push for unnecessary treatments and is available for emergencies if they arise. His staff is courteous and kind. I would recommend him.
