Dr. Thomas Grisius is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry (Magna Cum Laude). He continued his training, earning a Masters Degree and Orthodontic Specialty Certificate from The University of Detroit Mercy.
Although he has been in private practice since 1999, he maintains his academic involvement. He has published several journal articles, co-authored a text book chapter and serves as Assistant Professor of Orthodontics in the graduate orthodontic clinic at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Grisius is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Virginia Association of Orthodontists and the Greater Loudoun Study Club. He adheres to a conservative treatment philosophy of treating his patients at the appropriate time, with particular emphasis on occlusion and its relationship to the TMJ.
Tori, a former patient of Dr. Thomas Grisius, grew up in Loudoun County in the town of Round Hill. Her mom is the owner of a local antique store called Victoria's Past Tyme. Tori graduated from Loudoun Valley in 2007. During the summer of 2008, she joined Dr. Thomas Grisuis' staff as a Clinical Assistant. On weekends, she enjoys spending time with her son and being outdoors.
Martha grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Virginia Tech. She joined Dr. Grisius in September 2013. Martha is married with two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and all of their pets!
Melissa joined Dr. Grisius in November 2010, as his Treatment Coordinator. She has 30+ years of experience in healthcare and welcomed the change to the dental field. Melissa is married with three sons and three grandchildren. She resides in Hamilton, Virginia and enjoys spending free time with family and friends.
Sheri has been the Insurance/Financial Coordinator with the Grisius staff since 2012. She grew up in western New York, where she met and married her husband. They have since lived in Colorado with their three children and moved to Purcellville in 2006. She loves vacations, craft shows, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family.
Christy is from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and joined Dr. Grisius in September 2015 as the Clinical Records Technician. She attended ACCUTECH Community College and worked as a dental assistant for 10 years. She is married with a son. In her free time, she enjoys being a travel baseball mom and spending time with family and friends. Christy loves football and is a huge WVU Mountaineers fan.
Katie became a member of Dr. Grisius team in July 2016. She has 17 years of experience in orthodontic assisting. She lives in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia with her dog and two cats. In her free time, Katie enjoys running and gardening.
Sandy joined Dr. Grisius practice in September 2016. She has 20+ years of experience as an orthodontic assistant. Sandy is married with two children and lives in Purcellville. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Cindy lives in Winchester, Virginia and joined Dr. Grisius team in October 2016. She brings 20+ years of experience in orthodontic assisting. Cindy is married with three children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Grisius just did an amazing job on my son. His teeth were pointing is all different directions (kind of like mine!) when we began the treatment. He had to wear braces a little longer than he would have liked, but they just came off and the kid now has beautiful, straight teeth. He could not be happier. And Dr. Grisius has an excellent "bedside manner," too. He just seems like a down-to-earth guy who really cares about his patients. Keep us the great work, doc!

We are very happy with all aspects of the care here. Dr G & his staff have put braces on my two older children and likely my two younger children as well. When a wire came loose on a Sunday afternoon, my call was returned promptly by Dr. Grisius. The staff with billing have been extremely helpful and know my insurance plan better than I do! Everything runs like clockwork there and I could not be happier with my choice to come to this office.

I put braces on two children here. I spent over $10,000. After ONE retainer checkup, he yelled and screamed and lambasted my child. I have witnessed him do this to other children in the waiting room as well. No excuse for the bad manners and the verbal abuse of minors!

Dr. Grisius took great care of two of my boys' teeth so when I needed braces (at 53), I went to Dr. G. He spent time with me explaining what needed to be done and why. He worked out the best plan for me financially as well as for my season in life. He made sure my braces were discreet and only on for the briefest time possible. He also worked with my dentist to coordinate the restorations that needed to be done after my braces. I so enjoyed his friendly manner as well as that of his staff. I will not miss the braces, but I will miss my visits with the Grisius crew.

Dr. Grisius and his staff are amazing!!! I am a "older" patient and required double jaw surgery to correct my bite and ultimately fix my teeth. He and his office staff took care of everything from referrals, explaining everything to me, billing, insurance and any concerns I had. They even sent me a get well card after my surgery with everyone in the office signing it!! I get compliments all the time on how perfect my teeth are!! Tori, from his office took care of me for most of my visits and she is awesome!!! I highly recommend Dr. Grisius and his office!! I normally don't write reviews but this one is very deserving!!

Everybody loves Dr Grisius!!! He's great with kids of all ages, his staff is always super pleasant, the wait is never long, and complimentary coffee and water in the seating area for while your child's braces are being adjusted. Our experience was always 100% positive.
