Dr. Nate has over ten years of experience in the dental field and loves interacting with our patients. He is originally from Wabasha, MN and earned his BA from St. Scholastica, graduating cum laude and his DDS from the University of Minnesota. Nate married his lovely wife Jill, who is an RN at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. They have one beautiful daughter. Nate and Jill enjoy visiting wineries, gathering with friends, as well as camping and hiking in this beautiful area.
Dawn attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1994. Shehas been with us since 2004 and truly loves educating our patients on how to improve and maintain their oral health. Her smiles and laughter fill her workspace. To Dawn, every patient is special and captures her undivided attention. She gives more than 100% effort every single day. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures that every patient experience is top notch.
Noelle joined our practice in 2020. She has worked as a Hygienist since 2003 after receiving her Dental Hygiene degree from Nomandale so we are fortunate to have another experienced member on our team. She loves getting to know each and every patient and what makes them unique.
Noelle and her husband Jesse moved to the Wabasha area after living in the Twin Cities for years. They enjoy small town living and getting to know the community of Wabasha. In her free time she enjoys walking along the beautiful riverfront with her black lab and four-wheeling in the summer months.
Lynn is a familiar face in our office who enjoys interacting with patients and doing her part to provide exceptional dental care. Lynn has been a licensed dental assistant since 1993 and really shines in the area of orthodontics.
Abby is a home grown and raised member of the Wabasha area who has worked in the dental field for over 12 years. She is married to Jason and is a mom to 3 great kids; Dylan, Jacob and Annalise; who all enjoy life on their hobby farm outside Kellogg. She enjoys spending time with her family, whether its swimming in their pool or going on Ranger rides with her clan. We are so fortunate to have Abby as part of our work family!
When Julie joined us in 2013, we knew she would fit right in with our team here at Schoen Family Dentistry because she truly appreciates the atmosphere of working in a small family practice, along with the view out her office window. Wabasha does splendid things decorating Heritage Park for the changing seasons.
Born and raised in Minnesota, Julie graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. She says she loves both states and divides her time by working on the MN side of the river and living on the WI side. Make no mistake about it, she is a Packer fan!
On her days off, you can find Julie spending time with family, reading, baking, gardening and camping. Her young family is especially fond of the National Eagle Center in Wabasha as well as fishing/kayaking the backwaters of the Mississippi.
Janel has been working behind the scenes as our Bookkeeper for a while now and recently added Sterilization Technician to her job title. She is so much more than that. Janel is willing to lend a hand with anything and proves every day she is a real asset to the business. Her ability to provide support to anyone or everyone at the same time is a rare talent.
Janel enjoys the farm life with her family outside of Pepin, Wisconsin. She is married to Josh and has a young son named Jamison and a daughter, McKenna. She spends her free time outdoors playing volleyball, hunting and fishing. She also loves spending time in northern Wisconsin at the family cabin.
Amberlee is one-half of our new dynamic front desk duo! If you haven't been to the office in a while, you're sure to hear from her since she is a champion at reactivating patient accounts. She is very efficient and has put a shine on many of our internal systems and programs already. Kind and considerate with everyone coming and going from the office, her aim is to provide a pleasant dental experience.
Amberlee was born and raised in Rochester. She frequently visited extended family and camped here as a kid and loves the Wabasha community enough to now call it home. Amberlee loves to read, play volleyball and walk her two doggies - Stitch and Birdie whom she adopted through Paws and Claws.
Monica and her husband Eddie recently moved to Pepin after living near the Twin Cities for years. She enjoys spending time with her family and her German Shepherd. In her free time she likes motorcycling, reading and working on her hobby farm.
I was dreading going to the dentist being as I haven't been in about 8 years, and I know my mouth is not in great shape. As soon as I checked in I was taken to Dawn who did my cleaning and xrays. She is so friendly and informative! My initial experience with her took away a great deal of my anxiety. She brought in Dr. Schoen who confirmed that a problematic tooth of mine would have to be pulled, and he explained exactly why that tooth was having and causing issues, and how to get it out as painlessly as possible. I have never in my life been able to say that I am comfortable with and trust a dentist, until now. Getting dental work done is not my favorite activity, but at least now I can get my oral health taken care of without the anxiety and being treated like the next set of feet walking in and out of the door. DEFINITELY recommend!

I usually hate the dentist office. I have sensitive teeth. This dentist took extra care with my teeth and the cleaning and the check up went really well. If this is what it will be like from now on, I might actually enjoy going to the dentist. Grat job!!

Overly Long Story To Type, Making It Short. -Poor Communication Between Staff. -Horrible Customer Service. Very Rude and Demanding. -Office purposely schedules "rountine" cleanings in order for people to keep coming and not "violate" their policy. ( Dismissal notice received due to no call no show on 2 occasions. Occasions i never had set up, only informed of days prior to the appointments ) -Scheduled for ONE tooth extraction, I ended up getting practically forced to agree for TWO more.. ( Since they are on the same side they pleaded over and over ) -They do not respect individual pain tolerances. They Will Not Help You If You Are/Going To Be. They will not give you medicine. I had a hard time getting antibiotics from this place even! They will give you anxiety, a gigantic bill, and maybe a fixed cavity. If not fixed, they will be worse off then they were. Like in my case. All bottoms horribly sensitive and in pain with cold or hot. Absolutely pathetic! I have never been argued with, nor talked to by a business like this, ever, from what i can remember. They seem nice, its very obvious they just want constant $$$$ Sad. Only one good, nice, honest, respectful, caring individual there and shes a assistant. Hey, Schoen. There are plenty of dentist who will welcome me. Thanks for the "goodluck" however! They did rip teeth out of mouth fast and easy. That was cool. So 1 star just for that Schoen.

I've been with this dentist office for over 4 years now so I've known their rules and regulations based on what I've experienced with them. However, recently I guess they started setting up appointments for people without informing them. Then sending out a reminder notice over messages of the appointment that they set up without your approval. They had my family member set up for an appointment he wasn't aware of. They messaged him on a Thursday with a reminder that he would have an appointment the coming Monday and he messaged back saying "I never set up an appointment." Come Monday, we call them to make them aware again. The lady first said he was dismissed from the dentist for good due to too many cancellations apparently. The lady tried to say that these have always been the rules and that they just set up those appointments and if you can't do it then you're suppose to cancel with a 48 hour notice. Well we did, we let them know that Thursday right after they messaged that we can't do Monday. Guess that didn't count cause that 48 hour notice has to be 48 business hours. They aren't open Fridays, Saturday's, or Sundays so our message that we sent right back didn't count (so they say). Not to mention, we have let them know MANY times that we cannot do appointments on Mondays or Tuesdays due to personal reasons. Therefore, they shouldn't have even made the appointment for a Monday. Well since they said they couldn't take my family member anymore, I said they won't see me either again. Who knows if they'd try to pull something like that on me. The lady got very upset and specifically said disrespectful things such as "have fun finding another dentist that accepts his insurance" What kind of professional worker says something like that? It shows you how much they really care. Yes, I see you guys have replied to other reviews (only the bad ones though) but I stand on my words with everything I've said here. THE PLUS - Dr.Schoen is a great dentist. He's done an amazing job with my teeth. I had braces for many years and he did a great job making my teeth look fantastic. I've always enjoyed seeing him! There are some very nice assistant ladies in the back too! They're always very helpful and they listen to any concerns. However, the overall scheduling and respect that you get from all the office ladies isn't very nice or professional.

We recently had our first visit here, and everything went great. Straight forward dentistry. My son needed a follow up appointment, and they got us in a few days later. No complaints here. I would recommend them.

Absolute worst. Very rude, and refused to take out a device they put in. Also never received the night guard my daughter was supposed to get. Her teeth came out more crooked then when we initially brought her in.

AMAZING!!! We just had our first visit, 2 of my kiddos! They were phenomenal!! They spoke so kindly to them, explained every single tool and step to them. My kids loved it, I only wish the dentist was like this when I was young!!! So incredibly impressed. Lifelong patients for sure!!!
