Practicing orthodontics has been a great blessing for me. It is a professional that has allowed me to give a gift to others while making a living for myself and my family. Every individual case is different, as is every person. I look forward to going to work every day as I get to interact with interesting adolescents and adults who are happy to show off their smiles at the conclusion of their orthodontic treatment.

It gives me great joy to see patients who are happy with their new smiles following orthodontic treatment. Straight teeth with a beautiful smile can be a great self-esteem and confidence booster for any individual, and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to give patients that gift.

I truly enjoy getting to know my patients on an individual basis. Since I see a patient once a month for several years in most cases, I really feel as though we build a friendship. I love learning about their hobbies and interests, watching the kids as they grow up and mature, and most of all, just knowing that my team and I made a difference in our patients lives by improving their smile and bite.

I received my undergraduate degree from Brown University then went to Tufts Dental School for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. I practiced general dentistry for five years before going back to Boston University to specialize in orthodontics, completing my specialty training in 1988.

My thirst for education did not stop after graduation. I consistently take continuing education through classes and professional journals to keep up with the latest trends in orthodontics. My patients see the benefits in a number of ways, including faster treatment times and more comfortable treatment options.

Originally from Boston, MA, I have lived in the Bay area since 1996. My wife, Kathy, and I have four children between the ages of13 and 24, and a pet dog named Gucci. I love spending quality time with my family, but when I can, I also enjoy coaching and volunteering with local youth soccer programs. Not only is it a good way to give back to the community, its also a great thrill to see kids enjoying themselves so much and learning to work as a team. A few of my other leisure activities include cooking, traveling, and, of course, finding time to spend on the golf course.

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice. We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.

I am responsible for making sure the office runs smoothly from day to day. That includes greeting patients and setting up new patient exams, taking care of billing and insurance, and answering any questions our patients may have. My favorite part about working in orthodontics is getting to know all patients. Its great to see all the progress that the patients go through and how happy they are when their braces come off. I was born and raised in east San Jose, and my family and I moved to Milpitas 12 years ago. I am married with three boys and a dog named Lucky. Our kids are involved in youth and high school tackle football, so volunteer a lot of time and we sponsor many underprivileged kids in youth tackle football. As a team manager for my sons team, I enjoy working with the youth and meeting a lot of fun people.

I assist Dr. Chou during braces adjustments, take impressions and X-rays during our new patient exams, and take scan for Invisalign. For over ten years, excellent patient care has been my goal. I enjoy taking care of patients, building relationships with them, and seeing their treatments to successful outcomes. I love happy patients! When Im not in the office I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and our two awesome kids.

For most people, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. If you're self-conscious about your smile, correcting your concerns with braces will greatly improve the way you look and feel.

When your treatment is complete, you will have the smile you've always dreamed of and the confidence to show it off! We also want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire orthodontic experience, and our practice is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care you deserve.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
