Thomas A. Kernstock, DDS, and his team has been providing high quality dental care to many deserving families in greater Bay County since 1974. Our modern and well equipped dental office is conveniently located in Bay City on Center Avenue immediately next door to Bay City's Central Fire Station.

Dr. Thomas A. Kernstock is a lifelong resident of Bay City, Michigan and is pleased to serve the people of Bay City and its surrounding communities. He graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science and from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Dr. Kernstock has repeatedly been recognized by the Bay City Times as one of the 'People's Choice Award' recipients. He is passionate of the progressive and compassionate dental practice. that he founded. His areas of special interest in dentistry include: orthodontics, esthetic dentistry, crown and bridgework, endodontics, preventative dentistry and oral surgery. He has completed many hours of post doctoral training in each of these areas. Dr. Kernstock is very sensitive to each patient's comfort and to the quality of treatment which is provided.

Dr. Kernstock lives in Bay City with his wife Carol. They have two grown sons and four wonderful grandchildren. His personal time involves his church, golf, photography, reading, an antique automobile, traveling and his grandchildren.

He feels blessed to work with exceptional people and to be able to provide high quality dental care to many deserving families in Bay City, Bangor, Essexville, and throughout Bay County. Carol and Marcia are the welcoming faces that will greet you at Dr. Kernstock's practice face to face or over the telephone. They are available to answer questions you might have regarding scheduling, payment or your dental insurance coverage.

Prevention, education and establishing positive habits are critical to maintaining a healthy dentition and good health in general. With over thirty years of combined knowledge and experience our dental hygienists; Ashley and Kayleen have promoted health and prevention. Through the years they have developed rewarding and lasting relationships with all of our patients. They focus on each patient by conducting one-on-one sessions during every visit. They especially pride themselves on practicing the most up-to-date dental techniques and using proven materials. Most importantly however, they want to help you maintain beautiful teeth and healthy gums so that you can feel free to live your life and love your smile!

Our Dental Assistant is compassionate and dedicated to your health and well being. Kelli is an integral member of our health care team and are well trained and experienced in providing exceptional dental care.

Kelli will greet you in the lobby and take you into an examination room to discuss your history and review any current problems that you may have. She will then assist Dr. Kernstock when he examines you and will aid in delivering the appropriate care.

The Dental Assistant works under the supervision of Dr. Kernstock and is able to perform a wide variety of procedures, however their primary responsibility is to keep each patient comfortable and well informed throughout each dental visit.

With over 40 years of customer care experience, Carol has been with Dr. Kernstock since he started the practice. Carol's favorite part of her job is the relationships that she has developed with patients. Carol has two grown children, four grandchildren and a golden retriever named Murphy.

Marcia is a 1976 graduate of Delta College, where she obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Science and majored in Dental Assisting. She has been a member of Dr. Kernstock's dental team since 1976 and is currently the office financial coordinator.

Ashley has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 13 years. She joined our team as a Hygienist back in 2012, but was also a Dental Assistant for us while attending Dental College for Dental Hygiene. She grew up in this area and is married with three young boys. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, camping and visiting Northern Michigan.

Kayleen has been with Dr. Kernstock's practice since 2004. She enjoys helping her patients achieve optimal oral health and celebrating the results with them. Some of her favorite things about our practice are the variety of patients we get to help daily and the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.

Kelli has been a part of Dr. Kernstock's team since 1983. She appreciates the dedication to quality work and honesty in our approach as the two key factors that make Dr. Kernstock's practice simply different from others. She also likes the relationships she has build with the families we have served over the years.
