Thomas Bowles, DDS, believes that education is the foundation for good dental health. His beliefs in education, along with the support from his family, lead him to take a whole-hearted approach to patient education in dentistry. Dr. Bowles takes the time to get to know his patients and educate each one of their dental condition, needs and treatment options.
Raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Bowles was inspired by his father, who was also a family dentist. Growing up, he admired his fathers ability to help his patients live healthier lives. This inspired him to follow in his fathers footsteps.
Dr. Bowles completed his undergraduate studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee and Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry. Upon receiving his degree, Dr. Bowles joined his fathers practice in Flint, Michigan. His passion for continuing education brought him to Sarasota, Florida, and to the beginning of his thriving family practice here.
Traveling to Sarasota with his wife Jennifer to attend a mini-residency in TMJ Disorders, Dr. Bowles fell in love with the city. They took one look out over the city and bay from their hotel balcony and they knew they had found their new home. After moving to the area in 2005, Dr. Bowles opened his practice with a vision of providing high quality dental care with a very personal touch. He and Jennifer started their family and now have three children, Blake, born in 2006 and twins, Parker and Hayden, born in 2009.
Dr. Bowles approaches each patient with a goal of creating a total well-being of their oral hygiene and health. Focusing first on the foundation of dental health, soft tissue (gum) health, he creates an individualized plan that works both functionally and financially. Comprehensive examinations and patient education play key roles ensuring each patient understands their dental condition, needs, and treatment options.

Overall, a good new patient experience. Front desk staff was very welcoming. Thankyou (front desk) Emily for contacting my insurance and explaining to me how it will relate to my treatment plan. I love your energy and calming spirit . The charges are extremely reasonable and fair. Thankyou Susan for your caring and kind attitude and professionalism with the x-rays and new patient evaluation. I look forward to meeting a hygienist with those same qualities.

The other day I went to Dr. Bowles for the first time and was very pleased with him and his excellent support staff. I was impressed with his up to date equipment, the likes of which I had never seen. Everyone I met there was so helpful and friendly. An excellent dental practice.

I have never had a new patient exam as thorough as that of Dr. Bowles. Everyone in the office, from check in to check out (thank you Emily) along with assistants (thank you Erin) and hygienists, were very professional and extremely friendly. Dr. Bowles took his time and explained everything as we progressed through the exam. I left a previous dental practice and after my appointment with Dr. Bowles, I can honestly say how the care I got in the other practice was not up to par. I look forward to my new relationship with this practice.

I have been a patient of Dr. T. Bowles for many years. I first went to him when I needed a crown for an upper molar. I was very nervous about the crown because I did not know what to expect and I was fearful of pain. Dr. Bowles explained every little thing to me; and when I tell you, he NEVER ONCE hurt me, I am not kidding. From the numbing injections to any work he has ever done on my teeth, he has never once hurt me. As long as Dr. T. Bowles is a practicing dentist, I will never go to another dentist. Also, Ashley is my dental hygienist. She is thorough and friendly. She has never hurt me either. She is the only dental hygienist I allow to clean my teeth. Because of Dr. Bowles and because of Ashley, I fearlessly go to the dentist every 6 months and have my teeth cleaned, X-Rays done and take good care of my teeth. I'm 63 years old and my teeth and gums are healthy and beautiful thanks to this very professional team. PS: The office staff is excellent and very friendly. I give them 5 stars also.

I didn't hate going to the dentist this time. The staff was great and very professional. The dentist, Dr. Karow, was very knowledgeable and guided me through what would be next for getting my teeth back in order. But my favorite was the dental assistant who took such good care of me. She was friendly and made me feel so comfortable. Everyone was great. I actually enjoyed going to the dentist. Looking forward to going back to go through the plan they have for me. No fear.

Amazing people,everybody who works in this office are so friendly and polite ,Emily and the girls are so personable ,they make you feel welcome and dr Garrett Karow who is my dentist is the most gentle and compassionate dentist ,he takes his time, listen to you and do excellent job , he knows what he is doing , highly recommend him!

Dr. Karov, Chantelle, and Destany were extremely professional and very personable. They made the entire experience, which has been generally nerve wracking the past at different places, easy and worry free. They explained the next steps I should take and all were able to recommend which product I should obtain for the best results. 10/10, would recommend to family, friends, and coworkers.
