Dr. Nikas was born and spent most of her childhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated, in 1980, from Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Indiana. She was active in sports throughout high school and received a blended academic and athletic scholarship to Lewis University in suburban Chicago. In 1984, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in biology.
Her enthusiasm for science and technology, as well as her interest in health and wellness led her to enroll in Loyola University Dental School in Chicago. She graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1988. Upon completion of her dental degree, Dr. Nikas joined a practice in inner city Chicago where she cared for a diverse immigrant population. She also practiced in a large dental group in suburban Chicago.
In 1995, Dr. Nikas moved back to Indiana and acquired a dental practice in Indianapolis from a retiring dentist. In 2002, she moved the practice to our current location here in Carmel at 131st and Hazel Dell Parkway. She resides in Carmel with her husband and two children. Both her children attended Guerin Catholic High School and went on to colleges.
Our office is a modern facility with state-of-the-art equipment and a patient friendly atmosphere. We practice painless numbing with our Wand system. We also offer Nitrous Oxide for those patients who need a little help relaxing. We offer interest-free financing for treatment work and a Dental Health Plan for those without dental insurance. Our digital x-rays offer a more accurate diagnosis with less radiation exposure than traditional films.
Dr. Laucher has been a lifelong resident of Indiana, growing up in LaPorte County and calling Fishers her home now. After receiving rewarding orthodontic care as a child, she aspired to a career in dentistry. She obtained a Bachelors degree in Health Sciences at Purdue University, and then took her studies to IUPUI to earn a Masters degree in Biology. She accomplished her long-term goal by earning a DDS degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Laucher is a member of the American Dental Association, the Indiana Dental Association, and the Indianapolis District Dental Society. She dedicates herself to expanding her dentistry knowledge through continuing education. Dr. Laucher prides herself in putting her patients at ease by fully explaining steps of various procedures and allowing patients to ask questions. She hopes this attention to detail will make her patients feel confident and relaxed during their time spent with her.
Dr. Laucher enjoys any free time with her husband, Matt, her daughter Addie, and her two chocolate Labradors, Jazzie Mae and Roxie Faye. She is a sports enthusiast and loves being outdoors. She stays active by participating in competitive softball leagues, recreational volleyball leagues, and downhill skiing. Despite being an alumnus of both Purdue and Indiana Universities, she wears Blue and Gold to cheer on the Irish on Saturdays in the Fall.
