I do not understand how someome with such an immense lack of humanity and compassion could have become a dentist in this country. She's a horrible person who's only concern is to make money. If you are a current dental student, stay away from this office and do not shadow here because it will completely destroy your love for the profession. If you value your health, avoid Susana Lizaso.

This dentist is completely rude and unprofessional and her office staff is plain terrible. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Susana Lizaso for my mother who has Alzheimer's. She is a part of my mother's dental network so I called ahead of time to get a quote for the service but was told I could not be given prices over the phone and would be provided prices in person. I scheduled the appointment and on the day of her visit I was told the total would be $170, $35 for the office visit with an x-ray included and $135 for the work on her tooth. I was required to pay the $35 before she was seen and was told this was the X-ray and the office visit. I was not allowed to go in with my mother even though she is not oriented to place or time. I explained this to the office staff but they refused to allow me to go in. My mother went in and had the work done. Ten minutes later she was done and I realized that a gentleman was walking behind my mother. I was advised that the gentleman was the doctor's son who is the one that took care of my mother even though I never scheduled nor agreed to have him see her. I asked to get a copy of the X-ray and was told that the X-ray was not necessary so they never did it, yet they went ahead and charged me for it as part of the visit. When I got home I realized they had charged my card an extra $145 and not $135 as they had initially told me. I called the office and the lady plainly lied to me saying she never quoted those prices. After checking with my mother's insurance, they didn't accurately charge me. I ended up having to go back because her filling fell and this time I forced my way in with her and explained that the same way that a child needs to have a parent present, I was her legal representative because she has Alzheimer's and I needed to be present with her for the procedure. The doctor, Susana Lizaso, who was present that day, asked the office staff to ask me to wait outside and to tell me that she sets her office rules and no one can set the rules in her office but that she would allow me to go back in once it was my mother's turn. They never came to get me, did the procedure without my presence and then said the doctor would come out to speak with me after the procedure and she never did come out. She was rude, pointing with her finger that I needed to go outside and had no bedside manner or professional courtesy. I would not recommend her or this office at all and will be filing a formal complaint with my mother's insurance carrier and the Florida Board of Dentistry.
