Dr. Stuart Dexter has been serving the residents of Prairie Village and the surrounding metropolitan area at this location since 2000. He attended the University of Kansas and was awarded early acceptance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Following his graduation in 1987, Dr. Dexter completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City. He then decided to continue his education, focusing on the dental specialty of Prosthodontics. Dr. Dexter completed a residency in prosthodontics at the VA medical hospital. He then completed his oral and maxillofacial fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston, Texas, completing his prosthodontic training. He continues to expand his training through numerous continuing education courses, building on his solid foundation in the fundamentals of dentistry.
From 1991 to 1993, Dr. Dexter worked for the Ontario Health and Welfare, treating patients who had limited access to dental care. He then returned to Kansas City, where he taught at the University of Missouri-Kansas City dental school as a professor of prosthodontics, as well as treating patients in faculty practice before opening his private practice in 2000. In addition to his practice in Prairie Village, Dr. Dexter provides prosthodontic treatment for Advance Dental Care in Joplin, MO. Dr. Dexter has been a featured speaker at the ADA and is a member of the ADA, KDA, ACP, and OKU dental honor society. He currently teaches dental residents at the Truman Center. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Dexter enjoys spending time with his wife, scuba diving, playing guitar, woodworking, and supporting environmental causes.

Dr Dexter and staff offer ultra professionalism - as well as a friendly atmosphere. (rare combination) I had a full mouth extraction as well as a bone surgery in the same appointment .. and I can tell you that his talents are unsurpassed. Today, I have a beautiful, comfortable, and effective set of dentures. In addition, I am one who was always terrified of anything "dental-related" - but those days are over. This guy is GREAT. One word describes my feelings regarding the whole process ... JOY!!

Dr. Dexter did a fantastic job restoring quite a few teeth I had that were damaged after an accident. He helped me understand the process, which was reassuring, and made sure each tooth was addressed in a way that made me feel confident about the long term health of my mouth.

I've been a patient of Dr Stewart Dexter for several years. I've had major repair performed inside my mouth ranging from sinus lift to bone grafting and several implants. Dr Dexter and his staff have been so very great in every aspect. I've had so many compliments on my teeth over the years. It's truly been a blessing to have such tremendous dental care, that, I feel is far superior to the norm. It's awesome to have that secure emotional feeling, that, if I have a dental issue or any issue inside my mouth, Dr Stewart Dexter always has the answer & is able to correct it. Once you visit the dental office of Dr Dexter, you will depart knowing you're dental needs, regardless of how involved they might be, can be corrected and feeling Dr Dexter and staff really care about you and making you comfortable. I will never go anywhere other than Dr Stuart Dexter .

I cannot recommend Dr. Dexter. My husband came to him 2 years ago for dental implants. This was a long, tedious, and expensive option and in the end, after several infections which contributed to his already compromised health, he died. The overall health of the patient needs to be considered very carefully before additional surgery is contemplated.

Awesome doctor here, super professional all the way around. The staff is top notch as well. I have a crazy business travel schedule and they were able to squeeze me in and get me in and out in literally a few minutes. Money well spent here. Thank you Dr. Dexter and staff: BatesX3

Dr Dexter is the best dentist ever! He is very particular. If you want a dentist who cares about their work, this is the doctor you want. His work is beautiful & very natural looking.
