Dr. Stone received his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University, and then attended the University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. In addition to his education, Dr. Stone participates in many hours of continuing education courses each year; far exceeding the 100-hours required every five-years to maintain his South Dakota Dental license.
As a child, Dr. Stone always admired and looked up to his dentist. Since he enjoyed science and art in school, dentistry seemed to provide the perfect opportunity to use both. Dr. Stone is a member of the Black Hills District Dental Society, the South Dakota Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Lindsey graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She then went on to attend University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.
Lindseys been a part of our team for 7 years. She loves interacting with our patients and teaching them about the importance of dental health. A native of Lead, SD, Lindsey spends her free time skiing, biking, golfing, and enjoying her family.
Jamie grew up near Timber Lake, SD. She graduated in 2007 from North Dakota State College of Science with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has been working as a dental hygienist in the area for the past 9-years. Jamie LOVES what she does! She enjoys making patients comfortable while providing them with the best dental care. She strives to make each visit a positive one for our patients.
Janet knows many of her patients on a personal level and enjoys catching up with them on whats new in their lives. Shes happy to be doing a job she loves alongside a friendly team that seems more like family than co-workers.
When shes not working with her patients, Janet and her husband love spending time outdoors, especially summers at the lake on their boat. She enjoys fishing, swimming, and hanging out with friends and family on the deck. Janet loves to work in the yard and garden in the summer, and wintertime is spent working on home projects, snowshoeing, and reading a good book.
Cheryl completed the Dental Assisting program at Western Dakota Tech and has been a Registered Dental Assistant for over 8 years. She enjoys getting to know her patients and providing them with personal attention and care.
Cheryl and her husband Mike have three wonderful children and have lived in Boulder Canyon since moving from Phoenix in 1998. In her free time, Cheryl enjoys crafting and reading when she and her family are not out camping and kayaking in the beautiful Black Hills.
The entire staff at Northern Hills Dental are kind, genuine and thoughtful. They take the time to really listen and truly want what is best for the patient. Resulting in no unnecessary procedures! Dr. Stone and team are so gentle, I look forward to my cleaning and am no longer anxious to have any other work done.

Thank you Jamie, Dr.Stone & the entire team! I had my first visit yesterday and I was a bit nervous- I haven't been to the dentist since Covid, but everyone made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision to choose Dr. Stone. The office is clean and inviting, the staff is professional and friendly, and all of the equipment/procedures are state of the art. I could not be happier!!!

I greatly enjoyed my experience at Dr. Stone's office. The staff was very friendly, the office was very clean, and I got in at my allotted appointment time. They are progressive with the latest and greatest tools to make teeth cleaning effective and gentle. Thank you again to Leslie and Dr. Stone for the wonderful experience.

Both my wife and I started with Dr. Stone after moving to the area. We are very satisfied with this dental office. We would both inform anyone, that the staff is very friendly and their follow up is excellent. Dr. Stone shows great care and is very knowledgeable as well as is the Hygentist staff. We would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for top notch dental services.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Northern Hills Dental. Every one of my visits to Dr. Stone's office has been enjoyable and stress free. The staff and Dr. Stone himself are welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home. They provide excellent service and care about each and every patient and their needs. If you're looking for a great dentistry, Northern Hills Dental in Lead is the place to go.

My wife and I have been long standing customers of Dr Stone and his staff and have known a few of them for many years and even provided the staff and their kids with tokens of appreciation, but to call and try to rearrange an appointment for a simple cleaning and be treated with unwillingness to accommodate the request with minimal effort because they were just "too busy" was unacceptable. I thought I would stop in the next day to see if an in person visit couldn't improve my chances of schedule accommodation for the cleaning and to I make sure I was still within the constraints of my prepaid "membership". Unfortunately Mrs Stone (who I don't know) intervened and to add insult to injury, addressed me (not by name) with a condescending tone and began to escalate, I indicated that as a long time client I was just looking to see if they could squeeze me in somewhere and was met with the same indignation and poor customer service. I had to suggest maybe even putting me on a cancellation list. Her poor attitude prompted me to suggest maybe my wife and I just find a more accommodating dentist in Spearfish and her retort was "maybe you should!". Dignity and restraint may have been in order regardless if it was a bad day or not for her. I expected a higher level of customer service than I received on the phone and especially in person. I know these are challenging times with pandemic recovery, however, now more than ever businesses should be working on retaining their customers not alienating them, especially ones that have been with them so long. The lack of professionalism displayed by Mrs Stone toward me, and certainly for it to be seen in front of her young staff, was unacceptable. Dr Stone along with the hygienists and assistants that we have dealt with in the past have been wonderful and very professional and we have indicated that to them every time we have been in the office which is why this is a three star review and not lower.

The whole experience was wonderful, staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Kids felt comfortable and were well taken care of. We are happy to call Dr Stone our dentist.

Too bad they didnt get a good replacement after the last dentist. This guy used up my dental insurance plus money to boot to just do a little tiny cosmetic work.And he couldnt/wouldnt even remove a tooth . Stay away! And I doubt all of these positive reviews are real.

Excellent first time at Northern Hills Dental in Lead!! Wonderful staff and Dr Stone, they all made me feel welcome and were soooo friendly!! They were through and explained everything to me. Great place!!

Dr. Stone is by far the best dentist I have been to and the entire Northern Hills staff is very welcoming and friendly. The whole atmosphere and the quality of work being done makes you no longer fear a trip to the dentist. I could not recommend Northern Hills Dental more!
