I Knew that I wanted to be a dentist since I was in 4th grade. After 36 years of full time general dentistry practice I still love being a dentist. I have deep and meaningful relationships with my patients, and they have honored me by their kind words (500 five-star reviews see Michael Lacey DMD Rate a Biz). I have an amazing staff where many have blessed me with many years of faithful partnership providing exceptional service to our patients. I continue to find learning stimulating and have taken thousands of hours of continuing education throughout my career. This has allowed my practice to develop a comprehensive approach to dentistry. I have been told by many that I am an extremely positive, compassionate and encouraging individual, who consistently attempts to elevate others over self. I find great joy in mentoring others whether it is my staff, my patients or my associates in SE Asia. I look forward to sharing these skills as a part-time volunteer at OHSU School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mike Lacey and his wife Karen continue to support both Cambodia and Thailand throughout this COVID-19 pandemic. While we in the USA are having tremendous difficulties, there is another world of hurt out there that we may not see in the news.

The Staff at Dr. Smith's office are outstanding! Stephanie is an excellent Hygienist and I have been seeing her for many. It's always a great experience at this dental practice.

This visit with Dr. Smith to have three fillings was amazing. I had a lot of anxiety about having these fillings done, and had put them off for a while. One of the fillings was to correct shoddy work done many, many years ago. Dr Smith and his assistant, Tara, totally transformed my dental experience with their patience and kindness with the process. I feel completely at ease going in for any sort of care with Dr. Smith. Also, by the end of the lunch hour, I had totally forgotten I had gone to the dentist. I feel absolutely no evidence of the work that was done. I will never put things off again!

I met Dr. S Smith for the first time today after my teeth cleaning with Stephanie (who is awesome). It was a great introduction; both personal and professional. I'm so impressed and happy to have this team for my Dental care. Good people, all!

I wish Dr. Smith would have come into the exam room to introduce himself. Even though he did no services at this appointment, it was the first time I had been there since Dr. Lacey had left. I also was surprised that the cleaning procedures didn't include a thorough polish after the cleaning was completed. Instead she hit a few teeth before she actually cleaned them. I was really surprised to see that the procedures have been changed. I left scratching my head and wondering whether this would continue to be the kind of place I previously knew.

I love this place! The ease of setting an appointment, being welcomed to the office (documents and what-not), getting settled (pictures and stuff) with the dental technician(s), assessment with Dr. Smith, and checking out, was awesomely efficient and comfortable. My follow-up visits have gone the same way. I'd not been to the dentist in a while and could easily felt a little shame for not staying on top of my dental care. But they were so comfortable to speak with, I suffered none of that. They always kept me informed of what was going on, discussed options, and provided ample opportunity to ask questions. This applied to all the staff! I don't normally write reviews, but I felt like this very friendly and professional office should be proud of their atmosphere and services. After my work is completed, I might just schedule periodic checkups instead of waiting until some thing needs repair :-)

I only needed to see my dental hygienist today. As usual, being with Stephanie is a joy! She is thorough and gentle. I feel that she truly cares about me and my life. Stephanie is the best DH I've had in my 76 years!

I was a patient with Dr. Lacey for over 20 years so I was understandably nervous about Dr. Stevenson taking over. I need not have worried. I had a very good appointment today, hope & faith is restored! Calm, knowledgeble, asks questions so I know he cares about my dental history.
