I enjoy the challenges of all aspects of periodontal therapy and place a primary focus on spending time with each patient to meet your individual needs. My goal for you is to restore comfort, aesthetics, and health. I often state you will not realize your gum problems until I can show you how healthy your mouth can feel.
Working with dentist throughout the region, I offer advanced techniques in treating infectious periodontal disease as well as providing aesthetic periodontal procedures to restore your smile and confidence.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California in Psychology with an emphasis on development and geriatrics. I integrated this background during the 1980s in working with the developmentally challenged in Los Angeles and later as a dentist with the Children's Aid Society of New York.
I pursued a degree in dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and in 1982 moved to New York City with my wife as she completed her degree where I worked as a general dentist for two years.
After graduation, my wife, Susan, and I returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh where we had three children and I opened a private practice in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood. Besides involvement in numerous national and local professional organizations my wife and I are involved in animal rescue in the Pittsburgh area.

I had a great experience. All of the staff are welcoming. Dr. Uretsky talked me through the plan of my procedure and made sure that I was comfortable. He even gave me a CD player with headphones to listen to music, very soothing. I recommend coming here for all of your Periodontal needs you will not be disappointed.

I was very nervous to have alografting and Dr.Uretsky and his whole staff were beyond lovely. He really took the time to go over everything with me and even gave me a teddy bear to squeeze during the procedure! It's clear that they care about helping people and are very skilled at what they do. Such a positive experience especially considering it was for a gum procedure!

I went to Dr. Uretsky for an allograft. The whole staff is absolutely amazing, and working with them was a breeze. They called for reminders, and compared to other periodontists, I knew that they wanted the best for me. Other periodontists were telling me i needed more teeth done (to jack the price up), but Dr. Uretsky isn't doing this for the money, he is doing it because he is a genuine person who wants to help people. Please go here for you periodontal needs, they are the most down to earth people and will treat you amazing. The night of my surgery, Dr. Uretsky called both me and my mother to see how i was doing. I got the best care i could've imagined from this office and i can't thank them all enough! :)

Dr Uretsky is awesome!! He takes time to answer all your questions, makes sure you are comfortable during the procedure. Even called me later to make sure all was ok. Highly recommend him!!

Dr. Uretsky and his entire staff were very welcoming, kind, and had taken time to explain my procedure. I felt very comfortable and have relief already! If I must have an operation like I did again, I will no doubt opt for Dr. Uretsky! Thank you!!

I saw Dr. Uretsky for root scaling that I probably needed to have done YEARS ago. He and his assistant (I am bad at names and I can't remember her name) were awesome and genuinely care about their patients comfort level and dental health. At home dental after care is usually a struggle for me, but the level of care I received motivated to stay diligent this time. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a serious dental procedure done! I also second the notion in a previous review that Utresky is the Mr. Rogers of periodontists wish he could be my regular dentist!

I have needed gum graft surgery for over a decade. I was terrified. Don't be and don't wait. Choose Dr. Uretsky. He is the Mr. Rogers of periodontists. It was not painful or scary.

My husband had a procedure & was very pleased. Although his mouth is still sore, Dr Uretsky called him later that evening from his own personal cell to check on him & gave him his phone # to call if any problems. I dont know too many MDs that will check on their patient after hours but the outstanding care was definitely appreciated.
