Dr. Dotter was born in Lancaster, Pa and attended Manheim Township High School. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1992 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. In 1996, he graduated from Temple Dental School and received his DMD, Doctor of Medical Dentistry. In 1997, he completed a GPR (General Practice Residency) at York Hospital focusing on advanced dental care and surgical training. He then returned home to Lancaster where he has continued his focus on providing the best possible care for his patients.
Dr. Dotter has shown a true dedication to continuing education. He attends over 100 hours of CE yearly and is a member of the PAGD's (Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry) PEAK program where he gives regular presentations to many of Pennsylvania's finest dentists. Also, he is an active member of the IAO through which he is pursuing his Diplomat status in orthodontic training.
July 2009, in Baltimore Maryland, Dr Dotter was recognized by his peers at the national meeting for the Academy of General Dentistry. He became one of the youngest dentists to achieve Mastership status, the highest and most prestigious award given to a general dentist. Less than one percent of the dentists in the US and Canada currently hold the Mastership distinction. Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) signifies Dr. Dotter has taken over 1,100 hours of continuing education beyond dental school in over 16 different disciplines of dentistry and has passed a rigorous six-hour comprehensive examination. The MAGD distinction can assure you that you are in the hands of an accomplished dentist in the top one percent in his profession.

Last year, due to a change in my insurance, I was looking for a new dentist. I found doctor Steven Dotter's practice near me in Manheim Township. Dr. Dotter suggested I consider Invisalign aligners. After wearing them for less than a year and then whitening my teeth after completing Invisalign, my teeth are perfectly straight and the improvement in my smile really boosted my confidence. His staff is friendly and professional. I recommend his practice to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Staff greeted me upon arrival. I was seen by the dental hygienist on time. Dr. Dotter was great! He was genuinely concerned on how I was feeling in regards to my teeth. It was truly a pleasant experience. Highly recommend this top notch dental team!

Dr. Dotter and his staff are wonderful! My family and I drive over 2 hours to be seen by him for all of our dental needs. We do this because we trust him and know that we are getting the best care possible. I have always been self-conscious about my smile due to my teeth being crooked and stained. Dr. Dotter was able to make me feel confident and comfortable with my smile for the first time in 40years! He provided me with Invisalign, which took less than a year, then followed with whitening. I have never felt better. I highly recommend his practice to everyone!

Amazing practice. Our family books with Dr. Dotter over a year out so when we vacation in Pennsylvania we can have him do our dental work. I have yet, in 15 years since I've moved, find any dentist that even compares to Dr. Dotter in knowledge, compassion, and personal care.

Had to get a filling in a prominent place in my smile. Was worried how it would look when done, but Dr. Dotter matched it perfectly. I honestly can't see where the cavity was. He was also very professional and concerned with my comfort at all stages of the process. I would highly recommend him!
