Dr. Steven Lang graduated from Ohio State University in 1979 with a doctorate in dentistry. He went on to a residency from 1979 to 1980 in general anesthesia at the OSU School of Medicine. After completing his residency he and his wife, Terry, moved to Hampton Roads and started his first practice on Rodman Avenue in Portsmouth Virginia. In 1993, he took a leap of faith and bought property on Portsmouth Boulevard, had it rezoned, and built a small dental office. One year later, Dr. Lang opened a second practice, directed towards treating under privileged children. The combination of Dr. Lang, his wife and their staff helped build countless relationships in the community. As a result they quickly out grew the original office on Portsmouth Boulevard and began construction on a new facility. In 2004, he opened his new state of the art office, combining the two practices under one roof. In 2009, he expanded again, starting a new pediatric specialty practice called Childrens Dental World. Dr. Lang has always operated his business with the patients best interest in mind and has spent 34 years building an impeccable reputation. Our practice is growing every day. Dr. Lang enjoys fishing for anything that swims. Ohio State Football, ODU Football, NASCAR Racing, cornhole, and most of all spending quality time with his family.
Dr. Alicia McClung graduated from The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in April of 2007. She graduated 11th in her class of 90 students. She also was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an exclusive prestigious dental honor society. Following graduation, Dr. McClung returned home to Chesapeake with her family to join her father, Dr. Lang, in his Portsmouth dental practice.
She has 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and 1 girl. Dr. McClung takes great joy in spending time with her family both at home and at work. She has the wonderful benefit of practicing dentistry side by side with her father, sister and the other associate doctors.
Dr. McClung excels in all areas of dentistry; having a fondness for cosmetic dentistry. She is a caring and knowledgeable dentist who believes in always doing the right thing for her patients, a characteristic consistent throughout the practice.

I would appreciate if you had informed the patient that $148 doesn't cover the entire fee for the visit on that day. Informed the patient when you first schedule their appointment that other fees are involved for that day. Include all the fees upfront so the patient will not be caught off guard.

Friendly and personable staff. As someone who has always had a fear of the dentist, this office makes me feel comfortable and not dead my appointments. Everyone in the office does a great job of being extra friendly, helpful and understanding. The hygienists, dentists and dental assistants are all wonderful!

Started out as a great, but the true test of how much a place values a person's business, is how they handle a problem. I was in the midst of a procedure for root canal and called after several sleepless nights of throbbing pain while waiting for for permanent crown to be installed. The dentist was out on maternity leave and I was told I had to tough it out for almost two weeks. Upon returning, I explained my experience to the dentist and she brushed me off without investigating the cause. I noticed her behavior changed from friendly to being treated like a difficult patient. Unfortunately, on my next visit, I mentioned yet another incident where the hygienist left a piece of dental floss in my tooth. When I brought it to the hygienist attention, she was unresponsive and dropped my seat back to remove it with out my knowledge. That might seem small, but I could see the micro aggressive behavior. After the second incident, I called the office manager. While on the phone explaining the incident, she never apologized, but instead was passive aggressive and hanged up on me. I was shocked. She never called back, i initially thought it was an accident. At that point I knew they had no accountability and felt like they could do that to intimidate me. We immediately moved to another dentist.

Tried this office after switching from a popular corporate office in this area. I have a lot of anxiety around the dentist and this office made me feel so comfortable from even just walking through the doors. Very clean and almost no wait time at all. The assistant and dentist both helped me through a patch of anxiety which was so helpful to me. I'm happy to have found a new office that I think will fit my needs much better!

Personally I hate going to the dentist, but the individuals that attended to me made it more pleasant. They did what they had to do, and everything turned out positive. I give them a thumbs up.

Felt welcomed from the moment I entered. All staff were friendly. When I experienced pain from the " gum testing" device, my nurse was empathetic and apologetic. The staff was eager to assist me in planning future visits before the end of this year. The staff on August 31 were all friendly and cordial. My dental work was done swiftly and completely. I was also give some good, useful advice about gum care.

My regular Dentist there is Dr. Alicia McClung & I've been very satisfied with her the entire time that I've been a patient there! I believe I've been a patient for at least 10 years. My regular Dentist hygienist is Brandi & she's the Best! Both Ladies are highly professional. I was just introduced to another Dr. there on last week; Dr. Kelly. She performed a procedure on me on yesterday. She's very professional and has a great personality as well.
