If you are a new patient and have had a full set of x-rays taken within the past year or a panoramic radiograph (a large film where the machine moves around your head while you stand or sit), we would like to have and review these x rays prior to your first visit.If you have not had x-rays taken within a year, a full set of x-rays may be taken on your first visit. In order to provide adequate dental treatment, we will be unable to do an exam and cleaning without current radiographs.
Dr. Daphne Papaefthimiou is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina where she earned a BS in Biology and attended the School of Dentistry at Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska. Dr. Papaefthimiou maintained a faculty position in the department of Prosthodontics at Creighton University for two years as well as private practice. In her spare time (which is limited with two children and a busy practice!), Dr. Papaefthimiou enjoys watercolor painting, gardening, running, and exploring the many historical sites in Virginia. Dr. Steven Short earned a BA in Mathematics at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester Massachusetts and a MS in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Connecticut before joining Dr. Papaefthimiou in Omaha where he completed his dental training at Creighton University as well. When he has free time, Dr. Short enjoys tinkering on cars and running.Drs. Papaefthimiou and Short have two children who keep them busy with sports and activities.

I have been very pleased with the responsiveness of this practice. We have encountered a number of schedule challenges due to family illness and they have always worked with us. The Dentists are skilled and quickly establish your trust. A real asset to this area.

The office environment is friendly, the receptionist is welcoming and the staff are concerned and attentive. Daphne Papaefthimiou, D.D.S. was gentle and skilled. Although I have some anxiety about going to the dentist, I felt at ease , confident and relaxed. The final result was beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend these dentists to anyone who is searching for a local dental practice .

Perhaps the finest dentist I've ever seen-- and in 72 years I have seen quite a few of them! Gentle, extremely sensitive to patient needs, absolutely up to date on all that's happening in dentistry. And he shares his practice with his wife, another outstanding dentist.
