Dr. Cohen grew up in Westfield New Jersey and attended Westfield High School in Westfield New Jersey. From there Dr. Cohen received a B.A. in History from Syracuse University. He received his dental training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry now Rutgers University where he received his D.M.D. . After graduating, Dr. Cohen completed a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillo-Facial surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, University Hospital.
Dr. Cohen then joined the Bayonne Dental Group inBayonne New Jersey, where he has been practicing for the past 19 years. During his first two years of practice Dr. Cohen received a Fellowship in implant dentistry from the New Jersey Implant Institute. Dr. Cohen continued his education by completing the necessary pre-requisites to obtain a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Cohen then went on to complete his certification to become an Invisalign preferred provider. Currently Dr. Cohen is an associate clinical professor at Rutgers Dental School.
Dr. Cohen is the father of 3 young ladies and has been married for the past 19 years to his wife Katie. His new office in Livingston New Jersey is just another step in trying to deliver the highest quality dentistry to whomever may need or desire his help.
Dr. Cohen has prided himself on being available to his patients whether it be a simple filling or a painful emergency. He has always advocated that no one should have to deal with pain and be in discomfort..

Doctor Steven Cohen is the best Dentist I have ever seen. My first visit, (over a decade ago now) was in Bayonne. I went through a consultation, teeth cleaning, Implants and braces. Hi does great work. No pain. And, I now have a beautiful smile! I highly recommend his practice and him. Convenient offices located in Livingston and Newark NJ.

I've been a long time patient of Dr Steve and I couldn't possibly ask for a better dentist! He is hands down the nicest, most attentive dentist I've ever had. He lays out all the options for you and explains the pros and cons and gives his honest feedback. I have had many procedures done and he always does a great job and makes sure you're not in pain. I used to see him in Bayonne but have followed him to his new office in Livingston, which is a very nice office, with parking! If you're looking for a new dentist, he is a fantastic choice!

Kind, caring, patient, gentle, honest...Dr. Steve Cohen is wonderful! I have been with Dr. Steve for over 15 years so after he left the Bayonne practice, I made sure my family and I followed him to Livingston (he also has a practice in Newark). He is definitely worth the travel time. I truly love my dentist and would give him 10 stars if I could! :)

Dr. Cohen and his staff are amazing. He has the best bedside manors and he is very aware of what's going on with his patients and how they are feeling. Dr. Cohen makes you feel very comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend Dr. Cohen!!!!

Dr. Cohen and his staff helped me out in a rough dental spot and took on a challenging fix of another Dentist's work. They explained carefully the course of treatment which was so appreciated as it took nearly 2.5 months to remedy the matter. All visits were scheduled effectively. The solid staff text and email in advance so you know the appointment and they keep you up to date on billing. They keep a well organized schedule on time in a clean and well run office. Dr. Cohen is personable and cares for each patient while working with care and precision. Highly recommend.

Went to see Dr. Steve at his new Livingston location and couldn't have been happier! His office staff are so kind and caring and made the experience of going to the dentist that much better. I've been a long time patient of Dr. Steve and he is simply the best!

Followed Dr. Steve to his new location! 40 minute drive one way to see him, totally worth it!! Always professional, kind, understanding, thorough... great dentist. It is apparent he loves his work and cares about his patients. The staff at the Livingston office is fantastic as well!

Dr Cohen is a fantastic and personable dentist. He listens carefully to your concerns and works to make sure you are comfortable regardless of what you are having done. For someone who hates going to the dentist, he's made it a very routine and anxiety free experience. I can't recommend him enough.
