A practicing orthodontist since 1979, Dr. Shepard maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Texas Association of Orthodontists, Texas Dental Association, Rio Grande Valley District Dental Society, and the Southwest Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Shepard attended Trinity University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree before graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1977. He continued at Baylor to receive his Certificate in Orthodontics and his Master of Science in Dentistry degree in 1979.

Two generations of Shepards have provided orthodontic care in the Rio Grande Valley area for more than 65 years. I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Dr. Shepard is a very sweet genuine man who cares about his patients. Every employee in that office seemed to enjoy their job. It's such a rare thing to witness nowadays but a splendid surprise.

Dr. Shepard has treated one of my daughters and now we are taking our second daughter to start treatment. I am confident in their services and love the customer service. The staff is nice and genuinely interested in each patient. Dr. Shepard takes his time in explaining how he will treat each item that needs to be corrected.

Today I had my rescheduled appointment, and the doctor made sure I was well taken care of and very sweet of him to think about me as his patient. He apologized for any inconvenience it caused me which I didn't mind at all because Dr. Shepard is amazing and his staff. It was just a miscommunication on my retainers being in the other office site. He is amazing everyone! Highly recommend him and his staff for being so thoughtful and appreciative. Thank you. This is the second time we have been to this office and everyone is so nice. I was pleasantly surprised how everyone from the office, to the assistant and doctor communicated well and made us feel welcome. My 10 yr old was nervous but she felt at ease there. Definitely would recommend this place.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and I had an anxiety attack but the doctor was in a hurry and my mom told them to start on the right since I was having pain there first after I agree to do a full work up and instead started on my left which I didn't have any pain and finished them left while my right side hurts the most and I couldn't drink or eat solid food when I was able to and went back 2 weeks to get my right wisdom teeth removed and the doctor was a little nicer than before but still rushed me I hated the way they treated me will never go back there nor will my kids

The staff is very welcoming! I loved this office experience, enjoyed my time talking and felt like I was at home with all the staff. They were able to accommodate me also by moving me up with my appointment. They are recommended in my book! Will be telling others that they are the best! By the way I drove from Donna to Harlingen for this appointment which I was going to cancel, but I'm glad I didn't! Thank you staff and Dr. you guys are amazing!

I just came out of getting three of my wisdom teeth pulled out, and all that they described was never done, they said I would get versed so I wouldn't remember anything, trust me I remember everything, they told me that I would be unable to drive, I was able to drive, the only pain medication I received was when they injected my gums, and then I felt a sudden jolt of what i can describe as a piece of block, pain medication was not given at anytime to take effect, before he was already pulling on my teeth, the more I told him I had a lot of pain the more he got upset, and he kept pulling. When he finished, he just got up and went next door to joke with a friend. To him you are just cattle. If he gets upset, guess what, you are in for a bad ride. I would not recommend this doctor nor his office to anyone.
