Dr. Conley spent most of his childhood in Bowie, MD. He eventually went to Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, where he participated in the Science & Technology Program. After graduating from Roosevelt, Dr. Conley decided to go to the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he received a full scholarship as a prestigious Meyerhoff Scholar.
While at UMBC Dr. Conley participated in intramural sports (basketball, flag football), rowing & numerous other activities. He served on the University Presidents Student Cabinet & as Student Government Association Vice President, Vice President of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Special Olympics volunteer, Polemarch of the Theta Chi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Upon being accepted into dental school, Dr. Conley received a full scholarship from the United States Army & was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Dr. Conley graduated from University of Maryland Dental School in 2003 with many distinctions, including the Nathan David Gold Memorial Award & the Irving B. Abram Endodontic Excellence Award.
Following graduation, he served on active duty in the United States Army in Fort Hood, Texas, where he was deployed with the 15th Sustainment Brigade as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom & spent 15 months in Iraq treating soldiers abroad. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Maryland Army National Guard, where he serves as the state Dental Officer, overseeing the dental readiness of over 5,000 Maryland Army National Guard Soldiers. Dr. Conley is married with two children & remains busy with community activities & athletic interests.
Dr. Conleys goal is to make patients feel comfortable in the dental office. He treats his patients in a caring manner, taking the necessary time to explain treatment risks & benefits, while seeking to minimize inevitable anxieties. Dr. Conley believes that given the proper tools & environment, all dental treatment can be pleasant & enjoyable. Every patient who steps into his office is valued & is treated accordingly.
Additional Training & Certificates: Six Month Smiles Certified Provider, Invisalign Certified Provider, Altadonics Denture Provider, KoR Deep Bleaching Provider, Dental Implant Seminar Continuum Alumni.
Dr. William Avery attended the University of Minnesota, where he received a bachelors degree in American history as well as an associate in arts degree in Afro-American history. While at UMN, he won a prestigious scholarship to attend Harvard University Medical School for a summer internship in neurobiology & pre-calculus.
After graduating from UMN, Dr. Avery received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in private practice since in Washington, D.C. Dr. Avery also serves the community by providing dental care to patients confined by health constraints in nursing homes, private homes & portable dental units. He has taken numerous continuing education courses to continue improving his dental care.

Was dragging my feet to find a new dentist, so thankful for the Conley practice. Saturday cleaning was a great offer & Mary was so nice to me and my delinquent gums! These fillings might even be pleasant

From the front office staff to the hygienist, I feel valued as a patient. Service is top notch, the smooth jazz playing is so soothing, why go anywhere else for your dental needs? My favorite hygienist is back and I'm a happy camper!

Very honest dentist! Great bedside manner and listens to his patients. Addresses all inquiries. The hygienist I had was very gentle with her cleaning and informed me of everything she was doing! Very polite staff all around.

Dr. Conley takes great care of his patients. He explains procedures so that I fully understand what is going on. Having dental work is never my favorite, but if I have to have it done, Conley Family Dentistry is the place to go!

First visit to this facility and I was truly impressed by the high level of professionalism, knowledge and service that I received. The facility was extremely clean and well taken care of. Felt very comfortable and safe, and after only one visit my wife and I have decided to move our family dental needs to Conley's Dentistry. AWESOME SERVICE!! While going to the dentist is never my favorite thing to do; the staff and Dr. Conley made sure I was as relaxed as possible with minimal pain and discomfort. The process was well explained and all my questions were answered. I'd highly recommend.

I cannot speak on how the dentist is however the young lady that called to confirm my appointment is rude and unprofessional. Because of her attitude I chose to look elsewhere for my dental care. I was to be a new patient and while trying to understand the conflicting information she was giving me she became argumentative and actually hung up on me. So... to Dr. Conley... you have an employee who clearly does not understand where you get the money to pay her salary. I see a job opening.

Excellent service from enter to exit. My appointment was scheduled for 1pm and by 1:03pm I was in the chair for my cleaning. The woman who did the cleaning (Janice) had excellent bed side manners. She was very gentle and explained everything she was doing as not to catch me off guard. After the cleaning Dr. Conley came over did my exam and answered a few questions that I had. Never felt rushed or made to feel like I was asking a silly question. Checkout was smooth and I'm looking forward to my next appointment in February!

Been taking my kids here since we moved to Bowie 4 years ago and had appointments for my 8 and 10 year old today. I can't speak highly enough about this practice! Both of the dentists I have met are great with the kids! They talk them through everything they are doing so they aren't scared (they also give me the option to sit back with them for comfort as well). They joke with them and really try to make it fun. They of course do great work as well and have kept my children's teeth healthy and shiny! They work with my schedule and get me afternoon appointments back to back so I don't have to pull the kids out of school early (pre-COVID-19) The front desk ladies are always friendly and polite as well as the dental assistants or maybe they are hygienists, not sure.. either way we will trust our family's teeth to Conley Family Dental for years to come :)
