Dr. Magruder grew up locally in Dickinson, Texas and received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. He went on to receive his DDS at UT Health Science Center- San Antonio. He is very detail oriented regarding his dental work (his assistants would say a little OCD) and strives to provide his patients with Dentistry of the absolute highest precision and quality; dentistry that is built to last. Dr. Magruder invests a lot of his time reading dental literature and attending continuing education courses in order to stay on the cutting edge in dentistry. He has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and is working toward earning accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Magruder genuinely cares for each of his patients and treats everyone like family. As a direct descendent of General John B. Magruder, Dr. Magruder discovered that he has an interesting historical connection to the island. General John B. Magruder was a Confederate Civil War General who took back control of Galveston Island from the Union Army during the Civil War in 1863.
When Dr. Magruder is not busy in the office perfecting your smile, he enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with his wife Sonia, baby boy Benjamin, and Labrador Boss. You may also find him chasing speckled trout and redfish in the Galveston Bay complex or Laguna Madre.

They won't hesitate to stop seeing you as a patient. I missed 1 appointment,over the course of years, and they told me to find a new dentist. Highly unprofessional.

During my teen years I had braces and I started noticing that my teeth were moving since I did not wear my retainer. When I called the office to make an appointment, the receptionist was nice and friendly and I was able to book an appointment quickly. The office was easy to find. As soon as I arrived, I received the forms to fill out and I saw Dr. Magruder right away. She and her assistant were professional and kind. Both were reassuring and made me feel comfortable while taking X-rays and photographs to review my progress. Dr. Magruder also explained me the different options that I had, the cost and how long the treatment would be. She answered all of my questions and it shows that she cares about her patients and wants to give them the best results she can. I'm looking forward to my improved smile.

Dr. Magruder is the best Orthodontics I have ever had. She is so professional, kind, knowledgeable, very patient and sweet. She explains every detail of what she is doing while working on you in a way that is easy to understand. I highly recommend her if you want to start your orthodontics treatment. I am almost at the end phase of my braces treatment and I am very happy with the results I am getting. Many Thanks Dr. Magruder for making my smile looks better and prettier.
