Dr. Sung J. Hong is an American Board Certified Prosthodontist, a Fellow of the International Congress of Implantologists, and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Hong was graduated from the USC School of Dentistry with a D.D.S. degree, and received the Outstanding Achievement Award from USC and the O.K.U. Award from the National Dental Honorary Society. He completed his residency in prosthodontics at the UCSF Graduate School of Dentistry and holds an MA Degree in Educational Psychology. Dr. Hong teaches prosthodontics at the UCSF School of Dentistry as a course director and is a member of both the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
The California Dental Specialty Group specializes in the latest techniques for crowns, bridges, implant-supported restorations, cosmetic procedures, complete and partial dentures, complete mouth reconstruction, orthodontia, oral surgery, and periodontal treatment.
Dr. Thomas L. Chou received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1982, and received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics from Boston University in 1988. He practiced both general dentistry and orthodontics in Massachusetts for a number of years before moving to Northern California and beginning his private practice in Orthodontics in 1996. Dr. Chou brings a wealth of experience in General Dentistry, TMJ, and orthodontics to the California Dental Specialty Group.
Kavitha Ravi, DDS Dr. Kavitha Ravi obtained her Fellowship in Craniofacial Molecular Genetics and Stem Cell Research from UOP Dugoni School of Dentistry and went on medical missions to provide free dental care to cleft lip and palate patients. She received her DDS degree from UCSF School of Dentistry. She is a highly trained and experienced dentist with a warm and caring personality. She received her first dental degree from India and went on to complete a three year residency program in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. She has many years of experience practicing in India before relocating to the U.S.A. Dr. Ravi continues to stay up to date with the latest advancements in dental technology through continuing education programs and regularly updates her skill sets. Her goal is to provide highest quality of dental care to patients of all ages. She is an active member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Association, and American Cleft Lip and Palate Association. In her free time, Dr. Ravi loves to travel with her husband and son. She also likes to paint, cook and bike.
Britney has 8 years of experience in dental assisting. Her warm and open approach towards patients makes your visit to the dentist a bit more pleasurable. Her wide variety of experience and skills as a dental assistant, along with her friendly attitude makes her highly valuable to both the staff and patients.
Joan is our highly motivated hygienist in our Sunnyvale office, she has been with us for 14 years. Joans friendly demeanor helps to put patients minds at ease and helps to complete our CDSG family confidently! Joan is bilingual and speaks English fluently as well as Tagalog.

As a recent transplant to the area, I have been under Dr. Hong's care for the last 18 months. I've had many complicated dental issues to deal with including wearing of the teeth, sensitivity, misalignment, and broken/cracked teeth. Dr. Hong is talented, knowledgeable on the latest treatment developments, and has awareness of subtleties for the patient that are so important regarding comfort, look, and livability of a wholistic solution. He possesses an artist-like ability in restoration, leaving a natural, great-looking result. Additionally, Dolores (Sunnyvale front office staff), and the hygienists and assistants are excellent in their respective roles and exercise a level of time and care in the exercise of their duties that is second to none (and I've lived in 8 different locations across the US). I highly recommend this practice, and especially for those with complex dental issues regarding restoration.

Very nice staff! Dr Hong was excellent in explaining everything to me. He was honest about what did and did not need done which is very refreshing. Thanks for a great experience, finding a dentist that you like abs trust can be quite difficult. So thanks for making it easy :)

Dr. Hong has been the dentist for my family & relatives for the past 16 years . He is the best prosthodontist I have ever met & experienced . The office is clean with all advanced high tech equipment. He did major restorative dental work on me , my husband & cousin . BTW, I'm traveling from Walnut Creek to Sunnyvale for all dental visits. The professionalism & friendliness of the whole team is outstanding , especially the hygienist Joan & the receptionist Dolores .

Dr. Hong has been my dentist for over 3 years now; he is an excellent and highly skilled dentist and a registered prosthodontist. I would not go to anyone else in the area. He is very knowledgeable in the latest dental specialist technologies, always uses the highest quality and most visually appealing dental materials, and is very savvy with functional as well as cosmetic dental issues. I have always been prone to fillings, but Dr. Hong does them very well. My favorite part of each filling is the precise way in which he uses the carbon paper to achieve a perfectly level bite surface; in this way, I never leave the office without having just the right filling geometry. Lastly, Dr. Hong uses a registered Dental Hygienist to do my 6 month cleanings; this is VERY important, because rather than cutting corners on the cleaning and wasting his own precious time, he leverages an excellent Dental Hygienist (Joan) to do that work. Joan is very thorough, very conscientious in her cleanings, and always very friendly!

Been my go to dentist for Doctorthe past 7 years. Hong is extremely knowledgeable and kind with his patients. He also teaches at UCSF dental. His staff are also very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend.
