She then pursued dentistry and graduated from the University of California, San Francisco Dental School (UCSF), and was elected to the dental honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon in 1994. During her dental training, Dr. Rafati received Martin Scholarship and California Dental Association Scholarship for her outstanding academic performance and abilities.
Dr. Rafati continued her education at UCSF in the post-doctoral orthodontic program along with a master's degree in oral biology. She graduated from the orthodontic program in 1997. During her post-doctoral program, she received the award for exceptional interest in the development of oro-facial complex from the American Association of Orthodontics.
Dr. Rafati began practicing orthodontics in San Jose in 1997. In addition to treating children and adolescents, Dr. Rafati acquired extensive experience in multi-disciplinary adult orthodontics working in concert with other dental specialties. She has been an advocate of non-extraction treatment and has been very successful in resolving severely crowded cases and preventing teeth extraction in most of her cases.
Dr. Rafati is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, American Dental Association California Dental Association, and Santa Clara Dental Association.
Scheduling & Financial Coordinator I am married and the mother of three active boys and a beautiful daughter. I am outgoing and very active in our church. I feel I have the American life dream with my family, home, and pets. I am a people person and enjoy communicating with our patients and helping to answer their questions. In my spare time, I love playing with my children and watching movies.

Registered Dental Assistant and Accounting I am married and the mother of a loving daughter who is attending UC Berkeley. I live in San Jose and enjoy being a member of the Rafati orthodontics team. I have been a registered dental assistant (RDA) since 2001 and worked in orthodontics since 2007. In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends.
Registered Dental Assistant I grew up in San Jose and remember watching cherry blossoms in full bloom, when driving along Monterey Highway. I have three grown children and two grandchildren, two and five years old. I have been fortunate to be in the orthodontic field as a registered dental assistant (RDA) for more than 15 years.

I went to Doctor Rafati's Orthondontics for my braces, and currently I'm wearing retainers. I had an open bite, where my top row of teeth and bottom row of teeth did not close together; there was a big gap. After getting braces, the results were shockingly pleasant. Now, my front teeth have come out and they are covering my bottom teeth and the gap is nonexistent. The staff are extremely kind and welcoming, the facility and tools are clean and modern, it is overall such a great place. I highly highly recommend Rafati's Orthodontics for braces.

I went to Dr. Rafati Orthodontics for my braces and it was an amazing experience! The orthodontists who fixed my teeth were very friendly and nice! I would very recommend going here for braces!

2 of our children have been going here for many years. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Rafati is a sweet heart. Although one of their female staff member with a very heavy accent is very aggressive and hurt our daughter in our last visit and haven't been back since then. I did speak to Rafati and her reply was she was a new staff member. I feel she is not a good fit for your business. Best wishes

This place is awesome! I have been with them for about 2 and a half years and my teeth are way better. I just got my braces off and my family was saying that my teeth look really good. Thank you Dr. Rafati and all the staff!

I have worked with Dr Rafati for over 5 years now and she is one of the most professional people I know. She is extremely caring and takes her time with each patient, explaining their treatment plan and answering their every question. She is also a perfectionist when it comes to her patients smiles. Our office has 4 operatory chairs, side by side, in our open spaced office where her patients are extremely comfortable with a great atmosphere as well as state of the art tv's to entertain them as they get their treatment done. If you're looking for an excellent orthodontist office, Dr Rafati is the best!

IF I COULD GIVE Sima Rafati 0 stars I WOULD because I believe she SHOULD NOT BE WORKING with children. She got into a verbal altercation with my child and WAS IN HER FACE SCREAMING AT HER!! This is horrible and if she is a professional, she should know other ways talk to kids and control her anger, especially if she has been doing this for a living. This is an embarrassing dental professional who should consider doing another career because her passion isn't with kids.Her fake smile is great and all around the lobby but catch her in her office behind closed doors alone with your kid and she will show her true colors. I would never recommend any parent here AND DO NOT DROP OFF YOUR KIDS HERE ALONE WITH HER! THAT WAS MY MISTAKE AND I WARN ALL OF YOU NOT TO DO THE SAME

There has been nothing more rewarding to see my daughter's care in the hands of an experienced , perceptive, and a compassionate professional. I appreciate Dr,Rafati's genuine care of my daughter since her childhood. Having a child with a low threshold for pain that even a haircut is an ordeal, Dr.Rafati's management of my daughter has been a blessing. Her expertise and wisdom in handling my daughter's personalized care is much appreciated. My family and I feel fortunate to have her as it is very rare to find somebody of such high standards and expertise. Her Omni presence in her office and interaction with her medical staff has been comfort of my mind.

We have known Dr. Rafati and her staff for more then 5 years. I love how organized and clean her office is. They clean everything after each patient and they treat you like a family member. I'm also happy with the outcome of my daughters teeth after braces.

Both my son and I have been receiving orthodontic treatment from Dr Rafati for the past 5 years. My son had braces and I went through the Invisalign treatment. Dr Rafati did an amazing job for both of us. She is very technically knowledgeable and thorough. She has a very kind personality and very empathic with the patients. She patiently works around any issues that may come up and customizes the treatment carefully. Her assistants are also excellent and we got great support from the front desk staff. Overall we are very happy and glad we came to Dr Rafati.

Dr. Rafati has fixed my teeth, my two younger brothers, my best friends son without jaw surgery, my coworker and I have referred countless people to her...Why? Because she genuinely cares and loves her patients. She is always smiling and happy and greets everyone with tenderness. Loving kindness oozes our of her I swear! I was there today and I was greeted by her staff whom were super friendly, I got excellent service and even got to watch a movie while laying in the chair. Her office provides water, coffee, tea and snacks and I think that is just the icing on the cake. THANK YOU for all you have done for me and my family. LOVE and BLESSINGS.

I am so proud of being in Dr. Sima Rafati's team. I work with amazing Doctor. She is a: Wonderful person, Fantastic professional, Amazing Doctor. My kids are so happy because Dr. Sima Rafati takes care of them with big heart, smile and warmth. We have an open office and we all can see and feel Dr's warm words, explanations and directions of Dr. Sima Rafati. Also, each parent is always welcome to sit next to their child for comfort and is never left alone. The chairs are side by side so even children can communicate with each other. I am so happy that Dr. Sima Rafati cares about all her patients and spends time answering questions and explaining things to parents. We know Dr Rafati for almost 6 years now first we started with my daughter as soon as she was done, my Son started his braces, as you can tell we definitely been very happy since we went back same place For the second child. Three things was important for me when I was looking to find the right doctor for my kids and I found them all in Doctor Raffati's office. #1 having a knowledgeable and experienced Doctor Who is great at what she does and has a nice personality that would work with young children. #2 friendly & professional office staff # 3 Open space Area that I can see my kid at ALL TIME while they are working on hers or his braces If I could I would've give 100 stars and yes I definitely recommend this office.
