Dr. McAninch ('Dr. Mac' as he is known to patients) received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Tulane University prior to attending Emory University, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He also completed a Pediatric Dental Residency at the University of Florida and has been providing outstanding dental care for children since 1989. He is committed to continuing education and maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Sarasota Dental Society and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. McAninch also stays active in his community and volunteers/supports multiple organizations within the local community.
Dr. McAninch and his wife, Shannon, have four children: Chris, Jack, Brendan and Kathleen. When Dr. McAninch is not in the office he enjoys attending a spin class, walking on the beach or the Ringling Bridge with his wife and spending time with family and friends.

Each member of our treatment team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. Andrea was born and raised in Sarasota and has been working with Dr. Mac for over 20 years.What she loves about her job are the new people she meets every day and her wonderful co-workers that are also her closest friends.
Bonnie was originally born in New Jersey and moved to Sarasota in 1990. Bonnie has been with Dr. McAninch for over 17 years. Bonnie w a very integral part of our office accepting and filing insurance for our patients. If there is a question about insurance, Bonnie can answer it.
Originally from Panama City, Florida, Connie has lived in Sarasota since 1972 and is very proud to be a true Floridian. She received her dental education in Tampa, FL and became certified that same year after graduation in 1982. Connie worked briefly in general dentistry but her passion for pediatrics has kept her in this field for the past 29 years, 22 of them with Dr. McAninch.
Connie is married to a local Sarasotan, Wayne Garrett; Wayne is a retired MLB player. They have four grown daughters.When not working, Connie enjoys the beach, fishing in Boca Grande, reading and working out. Connie is one of 10 children and she is always ready to travel northwest to visit her large family.
Lynn began working for Dr. Mac in December of 1990. Whether it 's their first visit or their last, Lynnenjoys making a child 's visit a positive, fun, and enjoyable experience. 'I lovebeing part of something that has such a positive effect in a child 's life. The best part of my job is watching a child leave our office happy, comfortable and with a big smile on their face'.
Lynnwas born and raised in Sarasota. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters and adorable granddaughter.When I am not at work I enjoy, taking care of my granddaughter, the outdoors, photography and my family and friends.
Marrianne was born and raised in Ocala until age 7. She then lived in Ohio for two years, and then moved to Sarasota. She graduated from Venice High School in 1986 and Concorde Career Institute for E.F.D.A. in 1992.
Marrianne is married toAnthony and they have a blended family of five children, three grandsons, and a beautifulgranddaughter.In her free time, she can be found cooking, sewing, surfing, kayaking, reading or spending time with her threedogs.

My boy had a nasty fall on vacation here in Sarasota - Dr Mac and his team were simply incredible. They came in on 1 hour notice on their day off to help my son who had smashed out his front teeth! His demeanor with kids is wonderful. Calming & informative he explained to my 8 yr old every step of what he was doing to fix his broken tooth allowing/encouraging him to help however he could. We were in and out with a brand new front tooth in less than an hour. This would 100% be our dentist if we lived here.

Dr. Mac and the team are always first class. We are extremely grateful for the caring guidance Dr.Mac provides to both of our girls. What a great doctor!!! We have been going there for years. Just when you think he couldn't be more special, he surprises you. My son broke a front tooth and was devastated, as any teenager would be, and Dr Mac went above and beyond to fit us in to get it repaired asap. Love him and his staff!!

Doctor was fabulous, made an appointment for 6 months from initial visit for my son. Never received a reminder text or email even though they said it was sent and is a Courtsey and now I owe 30$. I have paid over 2 THOUSAND. Dollars in medical bills for my son this year in 2022 and this has been the worst one to pay believe it or not! All others have well deserved my money for caring for my son. Office staff was RUDE.

My son loved Dr.McAninch. We tried going to our family dentist first. After 3 unsuccessful tries we decided we needed a pediatric dentist and tried Dr. AcAninch. He was wonderful! My son's first question after the appointment was "When can I go back ?" We also had an emergency over a weekend with suspicious jaw and face swelling and Dr. met us at the office on a Saturday. I strongly recommend Dr. McAninch.

Dr. McAninch was extremely helpful when my son injured his mouth during a baseball game. He promptly met us after hours at his office, took his time to make sure everything was handled properly and my son left with a smile- minus a few teeth! We use Dr. Mac for our regular visits as well- he and his staff are wonderful with the kids!! It is always a positive atmosphere and they're given the best care. We're so thankful our boys are in the best hands!

Horrible!!; this people wanted me to wear a mask up to my Eyebrows, explained that wearing a mask for longer than 5 minutes will give me a mayor migraine, and I got kick out of the building, unbelievable.

I brought my daughter in for a new patient appointment today and couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. From booking to the staff helping me get prepared before the visit with appropriate paperwork to the absolute best dental visit we've ever had. Dr. Si and team have an excellent ability to put patients at ease and are very easy going and informative. One of the best healthcare providers overall that we've ever seen. We feel very blessed to have found this practice!

Dr. Mac is wonderful and his assistant in the back is sweet but the ladies in the office upfront are extremely rude and make the atmosphere uncomfortable enough that I actually went outside to sit in my car. When I came in without a mask on she immediately jumped on me in the rudest tone of voice glaring at me and actually made rude comments about it. I was absolutely fine with putting on a mask I just was very shocked how rude and abrasive they all were Funny though the teenagers that walk-through and everyone else were free not to wear a mask if they didn't want to. Even speaking to me about everything else related to our visit I was shocked how inappropriately rude and unfriendly the front office staff was. Not a pleasant experience, enough to make you want to look for a new dentist because going to the office is so unpleasant. Very unfortunate because Dr. Mac is a good dentist.

I just left Dr. Mac's office with my oldest son who is on the Autism Spectrum. My son has a history of only chewing on one side of his mouth due to other medical conditions from birth. Dr. Mac has helped guide us in his treatment since we moved here 5 years ago. His treatment and guidance has always been excellent but today he went above and beyond the call of duty. He sat down with me and brainstormed ideas of how best to get my son to chew on his other side. In fact, he came up with a pretty clever idea that I will be exploring. My son has had this issue his entire life but never has a Dentist sat down and taken the time to help me problem solve or come up with a solution or at least ideas to help make the issue a little better. I literally have tears in my eyes thinking about the kindness, wisdom and compassion he showed myself and my son today!! The world should have more Dr. Mac's!!

Dr. Mac came highly recommended and until now we've had a great experience. It pains me to leave a 1-Star review but I cannot agree with how we have been treated. We just tried to reschedule our daughter's appointment and were told that our children (essentials us parents) were dropped as patients. We did miss an appointment and felt bad about it, but would have paid a missed appointment fee if necessary. The missed appointment was unavoidable. We were told that Dr. Mac loses sleep over his patients and that they would no longer see our children. I find this particularly unsettling given we're all dealing with circumstances of this pandemic. If Dr. Mac was truly concerned they might have asked if there was any reason we couldn't make it. Perhaps we were sick, had finiacial burdens or so-on... Our reasoning for not being able to continue treatment at that time was due to personal reasons beyond our control. Surely, dropping us in this instance wasn't warranted. Dr. Mac may not have known that our family, who referred us, has been going there for decades and had several upcoming patients. My children deserve better and we expect better of Dr. Mac and his staff. Shameful. We did not miss multiple appointments as Dr. Mac noted in his reply. You will notice his tempered responses to all negative reviews. He notes, "The dental profession deserves more respect and better behavior than what you have shown me." Clearly a statement of arrogance paired with the intentional misspelling of my name. I'm certain Dr. Mac's lost sleep was over lost revenue and not my child's welfare. A simple warning, conversation or missed appointment fee would have been a bit more appropriate than being blinded by their refusal for treatment, period. I do not leave bad reviews unless warranted. This is my first bad review.

Never took x-rays of my daughter for the four years he saw her. Had my own dentist take a look at her after she started complaining of tooth pain and there is a huge cavity on her permanent tooth. She now needs a root canal because of Dr. Macinsh's neglect. My dentist told me that this could have been avoided if their office had taken x-rays.

I would like to say how thankful I am to Dr. Mac and his staff for the care they gave to my grandson. The Dr. was quick to call in a antibiotic for him and to make an appointment as soon as my grandson was able to have the tooth removed. We were treated very well and will be continuing dental care with Dr. Mac.

Dr Mac is the absolute best pediatric dentist. I cannot recommend him enough. I Went to him when I was a child and my son loves him too. My son is 5 and said he wants to go back to the dentist, what child wants that? Lol. That's how you know people know how to treat children. Also, the entire office staff is some the nicest people you'll meet and when you're a mom with kids and you're having a tough time a group of nice people is just what you need.
