Typical scam to bill you for X-Ray you don't need and "exam" they don't really administer.

Dr Shauna and her staff were very professional and kind. She did a great job on capping my tooth. I am thankful I found her practice and will return for more of her services in the future.

Dr. Shauna Pier was very anxious to get patients in her office, which is not fancy and rather an unclean waiting room. Be aware of "hidden fees". Her staff was not very knowledgeable and I did not feel a welcoming feeling as a new patient. I can only speak on my experience having my teeth cleaned. I did not choice to continue with this office as I think they lacked professionalism and I was concerned that the Dr. was not skilled in many areas. I was told I need an x-ray. I stated I did not need an x-ray because I just had one with a mainland dentist several months ago. The office assured me I would not get charged for X-rays and that I could get a cleaning. Needless to say, I did get charged by my insurance company for XRAYS and now I have to jump through the "hoops" of getting this bill off my insurance. Do Not let the office tell you that you will not get charged. This is Misleading. Be advised. I only met the Dr. for a moment to open my mouth and she said, you look fine. I suppose that Dr. Pier calls that an exam and bills for that as well. I wish I could express something good about my experience, but I can not. I actually enjoy the dentist and have beautiful well cared for teeth. I would not recommend this Dentist.

Dr Pier is the best! While we were visiting Maui earlier this year, Dr Pier took care of all of our family's dental care needs with kindness and professionalism. She saw us the same afternoon when we had a small urgent dental need. She explained her diagnosis and treatment plans in a way that's very thorough and understandable, even to my kids. Her assistants were awesome to work with as well. If I were to need dental care again, we will visit Dr Pier again.

Dr Pier was a godsend. She saved our vacation. Her staff was very helpful and nice. I ended up needing a root canal while on vacation. Dr Pier noticed right away that I was in a lot of pain she sent her staff scrambling to make me comfortable. The staff and Dr were amazing. I have the start of a root canal done and out of the office in less than 2 hours. My dr at home will finish up but I was painless till I got home. I would without a doubt recommend Dr Pier to anyone.

she is not only a super dentist but also an extremely pleasant person. she took away my phobia of dentists. i recommend her over every other dentist in lahaina.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Unethical staff! Unprofessional! Our daughter was already nervous about her appointment, she needed a filling. While crying, sitting in the dental chair, she simply asked to see the instruments as they were being used. It took some time to calm her down, and she was getting there, BUT before she did Dr Pier STORMED out of the room and told us we need to go see another Dr. Rough day? I asked the assistant!? She said it's been a long day! I accepted the answer. Our daughter was ready to try again. Again, she wanted to see the instruments, before they were put in her mouth. Dr Pier's patience was running thin again. As our daughter struggled a bit, Dr. Pier got physical, pushing my daughter down into the chair then throwing her instruments down, almost hitting both my daughter and myself. Once again, she stormed out, now YELLING "your daughter is not welcome here". What a s@!t show Dr.. We hope you lose your practice. We've never seen a professional behave this way...EVER!! Our daughter cried the whole way home asking why they were so mean to her!? We will never go back, or recommend this Dentist to anyone!

Dr. Shauna is wonderful, she made me feel such at ease. A few months ago we took our 4-year old daughter to see a Pediatric Dentist and he advised that my daughter needed 4 root canals & I was of course scared thinking a 4-year old needing root canals? So we took her in for her procedure and it was horrible, put it this way he needed to put my daughter in a stray jacket, because she moved so much. He then recommended for us to see a specialist & she would need to be "put under" for the 3 remaining root canal procedures. This frightened me and I refused to believe that was my only option. I sought out advice from a few dentists including Dr. Shauna and she advised that she could apply a paste on the 4 molar teeth to stop the decay. Since she was so young and would lose them eventually & this would be the safest and less harmful way. Keep in mind my daughter was traumatized by the dentist, so when she went to see Dr. Shauna it was hard, as my daughter kept crying. But Dr. Shauna talked to calmly, her showing her every tool, letting her touch it, explained everything she was doing to my daughters teeth so she would be more comfortable and also allowing me to hold her during the procedure. The procedure was a success and we went back for our first cleaning a few weeks ago and my daughter was so happy to go to the dentist, Dr. Shauna does an excellent job making my 4-year old & myself feel so comfortable & at ease. I'm so glad that we found such a good dentist!
