Dr. Ruiz was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. In 1978 she became a registered nurse and worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse at the University of California, Irvine. She was given the opportunity in 1979 to be part of the first class to become an operating room nurse at Santa Ana Tustin Community Hospital.
In 1980 her husband was accepted into medical school at the prestigious Yale University. They moved to Connecticut with their young son. For the next several years she advanced her education while being a mother and a part time intensive care nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Wesleyan University. In 1990 she received her dental degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
She prides herself in providing excellent dental care for all age groups in a caring environment. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Diego Dental Association. She actively volunteers in Fallbrook community projects such as dental screenings in the elementary school age children and providing dental care for children in need.
She is proud to have just celebrated her 36th wedding anniversary! She enjoys spending time withher husband, children and family. In her spare time she enjoys being a grandmother, wakeboarding, sky skiing, water skiing, gardening and traveling.

I am so glad I found her. She has been the best dentist I've had by far! I started to take my boys and they were also comfortable. Perfect for a family dentist. She's awesome!

Very professional and happy work environment, which I noticed from the moment I walked in. The receptionist was always very helpful and kind, as were the ladies that performed work on my teeth. The cleaning, which was performed by Jen, was very gentle and thorough. Plus, she was very kind and professional. The work done to fix my tooth, was top notch. I am hard to work on, because I require about a liter of anesthesia for some reason. The ladies were very patient and attentive to my needs, expressing much concern over my comfort level. That was very kind of them and was well beyond the scope of someone just doing their work. Nicole and Dr. Thomas did an amazing job and I am very happy with the results. Thanks for your tremendous focus on contouring my tooth, Dr. Thomas! Highly recommended team for your dental needs. Thank you!

Took my daughter there for her dental cleaning the hygienist and Dr. Ruiz was amazing and so gentle with my daughter and they are amazing with adults as well. If anyone is looking for a great office go to Dr. Ruiz in Fallbrook CA.

Unfortunately, plaque buildup occurs rapidly for me. Therefore, I see the hygienist about every 3 months. It's not bad though, as they are nice people and very professional. I almost look forward to going to the dentist --although that could be stretching things a bit.

Dr. Sharla and the entire staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. They make you feel welcomed and very home like family environment. After my first visit with them, I had to come back to do a follow up like two weeks later, and as soon as I walked through the door, they greeted me by my name, that made me feel good that they remembered my name. I recommend them to anyone looking for awesome amazing professional and friendly people.

Dr. Ruiz has been amazing. I came to her with lots of anxiety I gathered from past dental experiences and she made me feel like it was all ok. She doesn't do a bunch of upselling or charge astronomically inflated amounts for necessary things. And the dental assistants and hygienists are always just as kind as Dr. Ruiz is. I highly recommend Dr. Ruiz.
