Dr. Elizabeth Cash in a native of Newport News. She graduated from Menchville High School and went on to attend the University of Virginia where she completed her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. After her undergraduate studies, Dr. Cash attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 and was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Cash then moved out of state to complete a residency in General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Upon completion of the program, she headed home to Newport News to begin practicing and start a family. Dr. Cash lives with her husband, Heath, and their three children. She spends her free time playing with her children, reading, boating and skiing. She has been practicing in the area for over 15 years and looks forward to many years in the rewarding field of dentistry. Dr. Cash is an active member of the American Dental Society, The Virginia Dental Society and the Peninsula Dental Society.
Dr. Shannon Martin has been practicing dentistry in Newport News, VA for over 20 years. She is a lifelong resident of Newport News and a graduate ofVirginia Commonwealth University. Many patients often describe Dr. Martin as gentle, caring, and thoughtful. Dr. Martin enjoys expressing her artistic side through her cosmetic dental procedures, as well as interior decorating and fashion. On her days off Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with her husband, two teenage sons, playing with her animals, and leisurely reading.
Chris has worked with Dr. Shannon Martin for over ten years. She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene, and in 2006 she completed her Masters degree in Dental Hygiene. Chris is a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads. In her spare time she enjoys running, working out, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her animals.
Cricket & Penny-These loving puppies are usually in Dr. Martins private office always enjoy greeting visitors with a friendly tail and gentle kisses to brighten your day and make you feel comfortable. They enjoy treats, walks, and belly rubs.
Dr. Martin welcomed Tricia to our team in 2017. Tricia was born and raised in West Virginia were she attended WVU. Tricia, her husband, and two daughters have lived on the Peninsula for over 15 years.Tricia enjoys being on the water boating in her free time.

The service was great. I love how I'm greeted by the staff. I needed a last minute appointment and Dr. Martin and her dental assistant are top tier. What was originally scheduled out over the course if days, she handled in that same visit. No pain, the dental assistant was gentle and Dr. Martin made me feel super comfortable as if I was patient.

I am a new patient of Dr. Shannon Martin... yet in spite of having seen her only twice, I must say I am quite pleased with my experiences to this point. Dr. Martin does a great job explaining the sequence of steps taken in her procedures. She is reassuring and very attentive to her patient's comfort. Her dental assistant, Sheron is an experienced professional, who obviously enjoys her work, and puts the needs of her patients first. I believe I'm in good hands!

I broke a tooth at 5 pm on Friday afternoon. Texted the after hours number and received a text back within 30 minutes from Dr. Martin. Talked with the office on Monday morning and they got me right in!!! Dr. Martin did a great job, paying special attention to the fact that I can't use epinephrine in my injections, which shortens the time she has to work (it wears off quicker). Thanks, Dr. Martin!

I can't imagine going to a better Dental office. Courtney at the reception desk is friendly and very helpful. Trish, my hygienist is like an old friend. It is never a bad experience here. Dr. Martin speaks openly and answers any questions or concerns I may have.

I haven't been to the dentist in years and due to my experience today, I will never let that much time go by. Today was my first time here & the staff was professional, the office was clean & Chris did an amazing job. Not to mention how nice & knowledgeable she was. I % recommend this dentist office.

I am the most nervous dental patient! This office by far gave me the absolute best care in every way possible! To start.. I initially had a cleaning with the best hygienist ever "Christina" did the most amazing job comforting me as she worked her way through all of my teeth! My second visit was a filling appointment. Dr. Martin was so sweet and gentle informing me on every step of the process! I no longer need to be sedated for dental work! Sade was my assistant and she was amazing as well! We had the best convo during treatment! Big thanks to you guys well done and I look forward to returning for all my dental needs!

I am self admittedly one of the biggest babies when it comes to going to a dentist. I have a severe gag reflex and just the thought of the dentist can get me going. This morning I was so close to canceling my appointment over the thought of going, but I pushed through. The staff had great patience and took great care of me. My visit was nowhere as bad as I had let my mind wander to believe. Thank You!

My permanent retainer cracked and Dr. Martin got me in right away. She fixed the retainer and I was on my way. Painless, professional and easy. Her staff was one of the friendliest offices I've worked with. Thank you to the entire staff!

Dr. Martin is an excellent dentist. She took the time to explain every procedure she was doing. She throughly discusses all the pros and cons of treatment(s) in order for me to make the best decision. For example, when I chipped my front tooth Dr. Martin was very supportive, and thorough when explaining the process. She always asks if I'm ok during a procedure or if anything hurts. She's also the absolute best at nerve blocks, which was one of my biggest phobias. She is a professional and has a naturally lovely personality. As well as her staff from the front desk, dental assistants, and hygienists. The front office staff are always very pleasant, informative (regarding procedure costs prior to any dental work), compassionate, and knowledgeable. The front office staff makes the process very smooth from checking in to checking out. Check out is always smooth sailing! I leave very satisfied with the quality care and service provided, wishing I could show off my beautiful smile after each visit but smile behind my mask instead due to COVID : )! I have always been terrified of going to the dentist, but since I've started coming to Dr. Martin's office I look forward to my dental appointments. She is the best dentist I have ever had! I feel very comfortable during my visits, and no longer have anxiety prior to my dental appointments. They truly care about their patients and oral hygiene! I would recommend DDS Shannon Martin's practice to everyone.

I had not been to a dentist in at least 12 to 15 years. I really think at least 15 due to life changes, moving, personal things happening, and every time I thought about researching to find a new dentist in the Newport News area I would put it off constantly because after a few years went by I was scared my teeth were bad or whatever. It was always embedded in my head that every 6 months you see your dentist and I was well over that and just thought the worst. My old dentist who I would have made the hour and half drive to see was retired. Anyways, this year has been the year I dedicated to myself to get my life straight with getting healthier, getting my physical done, having some other things checked out, and having my teeth looked at. Seriously, once I walked in to Dr. Shannon Martin's dental clinic 7/26/21, I was already empressed with the layout and the comfort I felt. I was taken back right away by the hygienist, and everything was perfect. Even the receptionist. The hygienist took the time to listen to my concerns of not seeing a dentist in a long time. She eased my concerns and assured me they are very laid back, not pushy and definitely don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. They really like open communication. So me expressing my feelings, and mind you I did shed a few tears, helped them know how to handle my situation. When Dr. Shannon Martin came in she was wonderful and gentle as well. I was not there for a long time. They told me my teeth were actually very well taken care of considering not seeing a dentist in that amount of time and that there was hardly anything wrong with them. I told them I just always think the worse and really thought I was going to be leaving there with horrible news about my teeth. But it was the total opposite. I definitely recommend them to everyone.

First visit was an emergency dental situation and they got me in quickly I was so thankful The front desk staff is great Courtney is very caring and empathic. Sheron is amazing and makes you feel comfortable in the chair. Dr. Martin has a great bedside manner.
