Dr. Schwartz graduated from Penn State University and then Virginia Commonwealth University Dental School, one of the best dental schools in the country. In addition, he did his post-doctoral training at the prestigious Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Kings County Hospital provides one of the very best graduate training programs in the Metropolitan area and Dr. Schwartz received extensive advance training in all disciplines of dentistry, including Cosmetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, Implants, Oral Surgery, Crown and Bridge and Root Canal Therapy.
During his leisure time, Dr. Schwartz enjoys playing all types of sports, traveling the world with his wife, exploring new types of food, listening to and playing music, as well as playing with his son Lucas. Dr. Taxin actually experienced a serious dental injury while in the second grade one of his front teeth were knocked out! As a result, he spent a good amount of time in the dentists office regularly. This incident helped him better understand the importance of good dental care and how a persons smile strongly affects their personality and sense of self-confidence. Plus, he always enjoyed working with his hands growing up and liked the idea of owning his own business.
Dr. Taxin achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Farleigh Dickinson University but his education didnt end there. He also completed a residency at Morrisania NFCC and attended countless courses at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. There, he became well-versed in a number of different dental specialties, including full-mouth reconstruction, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and TMJ therapy. When he isnt busy at work, you can often find Dr. Taxin helping run his wifes business she lectures on the national level about medical/dental coding and billing. He has two sons (one of whom is currently in dental school), a daughter, two step-sons, and a young granddaughter whom he loves playing with. He is also a big sports fan (particularly the Jets) and additionally spends his time walking his dog, watching movies, and riding his bike.
Dr. Levey is a second generation dentist, who learned his unique approach of providing advanced dentistry while always focusing on the needs of his patients from his father (Dr. Robert J. Levey). Dr. Leveys dad emphasized these words to him: Always remember that attached to each tooth is a person you are not just treating a tooth, you are treating a whole personand usually a very anxious person as well. Dr. Levey has never forgotten that lesson; as his patients are happy to tell you.
Dr. Leveys dad (who practiced dentistry from 1955-1992 in Binghamton, NY) was an amazing dentist, and a pioneer in the field as one of the early dentists to place dental implants, perform dental transplants, and use hypnosis to help his patients relax. What Bard vividly remembers about his dads dental practice is how his father never gave in to the pressures of the day when dental insurance was first created in the 1960s. Up until the 1960s, dentists (as well as physicians) were generally solo practitioners working in low volume offices which allowed for wonderful doctor/patient relationships to develop. Dental insurance pressured many dentist into giving up the small, personal relationship that was so commonin exchange for high volume clinics and multi- roomed offices while chasing the insurance gods. The doctor no longer had time to get to know his patients as individuals. But my dad never gave in to this easy temptation. My dad chose to keep his office small and personal. My dad really enjoyed getting to know his patients as the wonderful people they were they were never just patients to my dad.. Dr. Levey has chosen to carry on the tradition that his dad taught him so well. His office is small (in a good way), and personal. Dr. Levey has also chosen to surround himself with a team that is truly caring and compassionate. Dr. Levey has set up a truly unique dental experience.
