Dr. Ralph was raised in Post Falls, Idaho after his father retired as a colonel from the U.S.Air Force. He has a passion for doing orthodontics in an upbeat way that makes it fun for all involved: patients, staff, and parents! Dr. Ralph loves working as an orthodontist in both of his offices Liberty Lake and Spokane because of the variety of people thoseoffices attract.
After graduating as valedictorian from Lakeland High School, Dr. Ralph began his college career at the University of California, San Diego (Revelle College). He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in chemistry. He continued at the University of Michigan, where he graduated the valedictorian of his dental school class and later earned a Master of Science degree in orthodontics.
Dr. Ralph is an avid outdoor enthusiast. His favorites are bow hunting, whitewater rafting, flyfishing, snowboarding, and water skiing. Dr. Ralph is very hands on; he constantly workson do-it-yourself projects. He is married with two sons.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

I greatly appreciate Dr. Ralph and his whole team!!! I had a terrible first experience with braces years ago that resulted in TMJ, however Dr. Ralph worked one-on-one with a TMJ specialist to make sure I had the best plan possible to fix it. His assistants and receptionists always make me feel welcomed and cared for, they even regularly ask about my dog! Overall an awesome team of professionals.

So far, I have had no problems with this orthodontist. They always get the job done quickly and efficiently. The staff is also very nice and likes to have conversations. All in all, it's a friendly and efficient orthodontist. 10/10, would recommend.

Dr. Ralph is fantastic. As an adult, he did my braces with amazing results. And now he's treating both my kids. He explains things clearly, has fair prices, flexible payment plans and his team is kind and helpful. I fully recommend him and know you'll be just as happy as my family.

I wasn't thrilled with the idea of needing braces again in my 60's, but Dr Ralph and the staff have made it as bearable as possible. When I have an urgent need, I can get in quickly to one of his offices. All the staff are great, and I always feel especially reassured when Kim is working on my teeth.

I had a not so great experience at a different orthodontist in town - full ortho on for 2.5 years and my teeth/bite were worse than before I started. I'm a dental hygienist, so I'm aware of how teeth should function. After much debate, multiple second opinions, I asked Dr Ralph if he would take me on as a patient to fix what was done. Luckily he agreed! I'm only 2 months in to my treatment, but I can tell he's going to do an amazing job! He has extensive training and seems to really care about what he does. HE was the one that placed brackets!! (Not the assistant like at the other orthodontist.) His team is so kind and helpful! I wish I would have started care with Dr Ralph, but I'm glad I'm there now!

5 STARS ALL DAY LONG! My genetics were not on my side for having straight teeth, these guys work magic and the end result was terrific! Not to mention the staff is very friendly. You really feel like family when you walk through the doors of Dr. Scott Ralph Orthodontist.
