When I was a kid, I dont remember braces being this much fun. In all three of our locations in Littleton, Centennial and Aurora, it is all about having a good time while creating smiles for our patients. This is how my staff and I have built such a great reputation with so many wonderful patients with a little something called customer service.
I have been practicing orthodontics in my hometown of Littleton since I graduated with my specialty degree in orthodontics, where I live with my wife and four beautiful children. Colorado has to be one of the best places to live if you love outdoor activities like my family and I do.
I feel so lucky to practice what I love, therefore it is important to me to give back to those in need. I am currently on one of only three cleft lip and palate teams in the Rocky Mountain region where I treat a lot of kids who really have a need.
I have also traveled to third world countries to perform surgically based dentistry on kids who have nothing. I have been to most parts of the world, including Asia, South, and Central America and just recently Africa.
We know that our office is only as effective and as welcoming as the people who work in it, which is why we take pride in our friendly, well-trained staff members! As a team, we are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient, comprehensive treatment in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Our staff is highly skilled, uniquely trained and aims to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient! Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications, and each team member has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advancements by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment. Watch the video below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.
What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.
When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.
To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so please follow instructions.

Dr. Ohmart is so friendly & caring. Makes us feel like Leo is his only patient. And the location is very convenient, and when emergencies arise- they get us scheduled in the same day or next.

Ohmart Orthodontics is the best place to go if you're looking to brighten your smile and exude more confidence! They handle all their patients with care, taking all of their wants, needs, insecurities, and more into consideration! They have great financial plans so that people from all walks of life can enjoy and explore the world of straight teeth. My mom and brother have been patients at Ohmart Orthodontics for years and have always received the best service, and only have positive things to say when they leave! Dr. Ohmart and all his staff have been wonderful for myself and my two daughter's treatment over the past three years! They've dealt professionally with all our orthodontist "nuances" and interfaced with our dentist, which has been so helpful. The offices (we've been to all of them at one point or another) have handled the COVID-19 precautions so graciously for all involved. Thanks to you all for a great orthodontic experience...I'll actually miss you!

Ohmart Orthodontics is the best!!!! They are excellent in every way. Starting with the front desk, the ladies are always so happy and excited to greet you. The office manager Alisa is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Her attention to detail and to want to make sure the patient is taken care of is incredible. I feel like all of the orthodontist assistants that are hired are the absolute best of the best. They not only are smart but they go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and understand the dental treatment. Dr. Ohmart is phenomenal and I hope he never retires. He has taken care of not only my siblings but my husband and soon he my children will become an Ohmart Orthodontist patient. Dr. Ohmart and his team have been great to work with. We sought consults from multiple orthodontists when it was time for our daughter to get braces. Ultimately, we chose Dr. Ohmart because of his conservative approach. The other orthodontists recommended oral surgery and a multitude of aggressive interventions. Dr. Ohmart preferred to track our daughter's growth for about 8 months before putting on braces. He collaborated with our dentist when it became apparent baby teeth would need to be removed and continued to tailor the interventions specifically to our daughter. His team has been with him for years and are always in a great mood. Everyone is accommodating for the little emergencies that come up with braces and it's never difficult to get someone in the phone. In fact, during the shut-down, we were given Dr. Ohmart's home number and he talked us through how to trim a wire that had become loose over FaceTime! I cannot say enough good things about this team and recommend them to everyone.

I wasn't looking forward to reliving my teenage braces years again, but Dr. Ohmart and his staff were welcoming, comforting and friendly throughout the process. He worked closely with my maxillofacial surgeon and the results, although a process, were amazing. I'd recommend him for kids and adults alike. Thank you! The professionalism of the entire team made the process of getting my child braces a seamless experience. The staff did a great job of keeping my teenager on track with getting his braces of in the time frame that was discussed at our consultation. They also didn't over charge for the braces. They were the most affordable option for our family. He now has a beautiful smile for the world to see. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing braces.

We have had a great experience from day one when I called to inquire about getting my 11 yr old braces. Always very nice and friendly staff. They explained everything from start to finish. Waiting area for parents and kids is great! I have always been able to get appts that work well for me.

Fantastic experience so far! My husband and I are getting Invisalign. The office is clean, all of the staff have been wonderful and friendly and the process has been very efficient.
